Sandra "Jeanz" | 33 comments Hi, I recently set up a blog to put my reviews on http://www.jeanzbookreadnreview.blogs... so if you are an author who would like their book reviewing please let me know. Both myself and my 15 yr old review the books her blog is http://www.rai29bookreadnreview.blogs...
We will have a go at reading most genres though at the moment favour dystopian, fantasy, a bit of sci-fi, romance. We are also doing a ebook giveaway at my blog thanks to some generous authors who have donated their ebooks so why not take a look at the blog too.

Cassie McCown (cassie629) | 713 comments I just love that you and your daughter are in this together!! :-) I hope at least one of my kids loves reading and writing as much as I do! haha

I am following you both! If I ever get the time to get some silly blog awards finished...haha...I'll see if I can get some more traffic your way too! :-)

Anagha Uppal My mother would wish that I love reading and writing less ;) Tell your daughter "hi", Sandra, I am also 15 and dipping my toes into the world of blogging. Maybe she and I could compare books sometime...

I never understand this! If my kids love to read and write, PLEASE! If they want to draw, paint, etc...PLEASE! If they like sports, music, debate team...whatever...

I'm NOT saying your parents are like this, but I just don't understand why so many parents aren't more eager to nurture their children's natural talents and interests??

My parents didn't buy me a lot of books or anything, but they were supportive of my writing...and then music... My dad wouldn't let me play a sport and be in the band, but that had more to do with money than anything else.

Hmmm...

message 12: by Anagha Uppal (last edited Aug 06, 2011 12:18AM) (new)

Anagha Uppal I'm not complaining (exactly). They don't mind me reading and writing as long as it's limited. They want me to do other stuff too...study for my SATs, take a walk, whatever. And I totally understand that. I just...well...would rather sit here and comment and think of what I'll post next on my blog ;)

Anagha Uppal Cambria: It's available on Amazon (for free) and it's called slideshow widget. If you have a lot of books, be prepared-it COULD take an hour. Actually no, it depends, if you just want to add the books, it would probably take about 10-20 minutes. But if you want to insert comments like I did, it will take a lot longer. Also, after you have embedded it and closed the tab, you cannot go back and edit it without redoing the whole thing, so be very sure you're ready. That said, it was a lot of fun to make, and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. So I say go ahead!

message 22: by D. Robert (new)

D. Robert Pease (drobertpease) Sandra,

I'd love a review of my new book: Noah Zarc: Mammoth Trouble. It's a sci-fi adventure story for 9-12 year-olds. Here's the book blurb:

Noah lives for piloting spaceships through time, dodging killer robots and saving Earth’s animals from extinction. Life couldn’t be better. However, the twelve-year-old time traveler soon learns it could be a whole lot worse. His mom is abducted and taken to thirty-first century Mars; his dad becomes stranded in the Ice Age; and Noah is attacked at every turn by a foe bent on destroying a newly habitable, post apocalyptic Earth.

Traveling through time in the family’s immense spaceship, Noah, a paraplegic from birth, must somehow care for the thousands of animals on board, while finding a way to rescue his parents. Along the way, he discovers his mother and father aren’t who he thought they were, and there is strength inside him he didn’t know he had.

If you are interested, let me know your email and I'll send you an eBook copy.

Thanks.

Julie (jataylor) | 33 comments If you're still accepting books, I'd love a review of my novel Earth Bound. From your description, Earth Bound falls right under your preferences and is appropriate for you and your 15 yr old (and I'd be very pleased to have a younger perspective on it, since it's written as a real-time from the protagonist's POV, which is different than so many).

I love the idea of an ebook giveaway also - I truly believe that us ebook/indie authors will leap ahead even more once the general public understands how incredibly accessible ebooks are. So many still believe that eReaders are required... On that note, I'd like to inquire about donating a copy of my book for your giveaway..

Let me know.

Julie

Jennifer Steen (fictionfreak1) | 69 comments Hi Sandra,

I have two short stories published. One is a YA Romance which has 9 reviews so far and I'd just LOVE to get it up to ten. :)

And a Women's Lit which was just released yesterday by Twenty or Less Press. I can certainly use reviews on both. I'd also be happy to do any sort of give away (Kindle only) or do an Author's Interview.

Here's a link to my website with lots of info on both stories www.jensteen.net

I can send Kindle, or PDF.

Sandra "Jeanz" | 33 comments I am trying to put together an international ebook October Giveaway would anyone be interested in giving away a copy/copies of their ebook? (I will also need a copy myself to review if I have not already reviewed your book if possible)

message 28: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Steen (fictionfreak1) | 69 comments me me! Where should I send the review copy?

message 29: by Sandra "Jeanz" (new)

Sandra "Jeanz" | 33 comments Jennifer you have sent me review copies of A little Push and your other book but I haven't yet had time to read them..... would you be interested in the October Giveaway as a way to promote your book/books? I am about to start a list...

message 30: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Steen (fictionfreak1) | 69 comments yes that would be awesome. I can give a copy of each, but it will have to be Kindle, if that's alright. Whenever you want to give them away, just message me with an email address, and I can send it to them.

message 45: by Richard (new)

Richard Byers (rleebyers) | 11 comments I’m Richard Lee Byers. I’ve been writing fantasy and horror for a while now and am the author of over thirty novels and lots of short fiction. In recent years, I’ve done quite a bit of work in the Forgotten Realms universe.

I have now self-published two eBooks and am looking for people to review them. The Q Word and Other Stories is a collection of some of my short fiction. The Impostor #1: Half a Hero is the first volume of a post-apocalyptic superhero series. You could think of it as either a comic book in prose or fantastic adventure in the tradition of hero pulps like The Shadow and Doc Savage.

Are you interested in reviewing either of them or both? If so, please let me know either by posting a note here or by emailing me here:

rleebyers@mac.com

Thanks for your consideration.
