I am currently reading Hounded by Kevin Hearne and the Chicks Kick Butt anthology. Both are good so far.
I am reading River Secrets which is a book that's been in my to-be-read pile for around 3 years. Good story.
Finished The Hour of Dust and Ashes by Kelly Gay, and after a slow overall first half, the 2nd half was really good. Now reading Low Town by Daniel Polansky.
I finished 'A Hard Day's Knight' by Simon R. Green. The books may become a bit formulaic after a while, but they are still so enjoyable. In what other series can you be thoroughly amused on one page and totally horrified on the next? And now I'm undecided between Spell Bound by Kelley Armstrong or Hexed by Kevin Hearne. Which too choose....
or
I read Magic in the Bones from her, didn't like it much but I liked her ideas and was promising enough that I'll continue and see where it goes.

. Never read a book by this author before and I am pleased!"I could barely get through that book. I think it's one of those that you love or hate - like black licorice.
Lan-Dinh wrote: "I could barely get through that book. I think it's one of those that you love or hate - like black licorice."I find most steampunk books are like that.
Lan-Dinh wrote: "I think it's one of those that you love or hate - like black licorice."lol I like the way you put that. I haven't picked up Dead Iron yet but I didn't particularly enjoy the Allie Beckstrom books so I'm not sure if Dead Iron will be for me either.
Just started with:
I've had it in my TBR for quite sometime - now I regret leaving it for so long, it's a solid read so far.
Reading
- so far it's pretty good. The Ghostwalkers series gets a lot of recommendations and I've had it on my TBR for awhile. Finally jumped into this one for part of a September challenge.

I love the opening exchange between Atticus and Leif regarding Leif's archaic use of language. But I just love the way Leif talks and hope he doesn't change a thing!

ARGH! I'm so glad you said that. I only read about 10 pages and kept getting distracted! My problem is I've read so many great books this month for the challenges, that I want to jump into other books in those series....instead of reading book #1 of like 10 different series. I can't get focused!!

I hear you!! I just started doing challenges recently and on one hand they are great for helping me decide what to pick off the TBR pile next, but other times I feel compelled to read something just because it fits a category rather than it's what I really want to read. But the challenges are kind of addictive. And I've got too many series that I really need to focus on and finish. At least the Jesse James Dawson series is only two books so far....

I did the same thing. I also put off reading it, and it turned out to be my favorite one when I finally read it.
I am absolutely LOVING Hammered by Kevin Hearne.

I ended up dumping the audio and reading the book...the narrator was not bad but this (to me) is one of the books that is better to read then listen....I will be starting the 2nd book soon

Huh, now I'm kinda interested in it. I stopped reading the series at that book because the premise just didn't sound interesting... I'll have to pick it up! :)
I am totally smitten with Kevin Hearne and cannot wait until Tricked comes out next April! For now, I'm revisiting the very first UF/PNR series I read (after Twilight, I must confess). After two years, I think it's time to catch up with Sookie.
I just finished all five books in the Fever Series by Karen Moning...It was absolutely fabulous. It had been sitting on my Kindle for awhile, I guess it didn't sound appealing for some reason but decided I would give it a try. I am so glad I did!!! The fifth book was amazing :) Now I am going to read Covet by JR Ward and Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater.
Just finishedCircle of Enemies by Harry Connolly
really enjoying the series!
Starting
Sandman Slim by Richard Kadry
based on this group's book-of-the-month.
Hope it's good!

Me too. I liked Bryn, but the situation was too much for me to take.
