I'm about 200 pages in now, and I'm finding that this book is making me sad. She keeps telling him these stories about star-crossed lovers and it's giving me a bad feeling about the ending. I think I need to line up something funny to read after this.

I just attributed that feeling to the book being YA. No matter how much I enjoy a YA book, I always feel like there is something missing. Usually I can't quite explain what it is either.

They have the right mixture and balance of paranormal, humor and love that kept me coming back.
I have read this series countless times and I still love it as much as the first. It's so easy to get lost in the language and plot. I still find myself into the same parts and laughing at the same dry humor even though I know it's coming. It's wonderful to have those to go back to periodically.
Excited about starting
im only a few chapters in and im already intrigued about the villian. Love this series!

Certainly my favorite UF. I believe its complexity and depth illustrates the power of working in teams.

--loving it so far, basically despite myself. Stark is like a phlegmatic version of Dresden in his cold-fury-berserker moods. He's way on the dark side of the antivillain chart, but I can't help liking him!
Just finished Maggie for Hireand have to say I loved it. Not as grim and dark as most of the urban fantasy/vampire genre, which suits me very well. Just bounces from vampire attack to demons to vampire attack, with the requisite wicked uncle. A great antidote to a bad day.

. I had set it aside for two days because it was really quite depressing and I was reluctant to pick it back up, but I am so glad I did! What an emotional, heart-wrenching yet up-lifting tale.

This series is really more of a mystery series with a fantasy spin than it is a romance. The romance that is in it is handled differently than most of them. Yeah, there is the whole "mating-bond" thing that snaps into place when they meet, but it take the primary character a few books to actually really come to terms with it. She struggles with trying to figure out if she has come to love this man/wolf because of who he is and who they are together, or if it's just because of the mating bond. And I like the complexity she's worked into the series. Each book adds a new layer. Plus, I think this is the only series I've read in which the primary character is Asian American and I love Lily's grandmother.

late last night - truthfully it shouldnt of taken me so long to read being that its a pretty quick read but what can i say i couldnt be bothered reading it most of the time, i was expecting something much better and was a bit disappointed when the book seem to concentrate more on the characters then what was going on around them which was much more interesting.also finished
which i thought was fantastic. loved the end scene with catch and raff, bit hard to explain how i felt about it though... it was heartbreaking but in a good way.not sure what im going to read next.

I have finished reading all three books and I loved them and can't wait to see how the movie comes out in comparison to the books. I plan to see the movie before the weeks out.
I cannot help but think about Twilight Saga, the books and the movies and how they were not totally exactly like the books but I still love them all.
But book 2 had me in more tears that book 1 and it only got worse when I read book 3. I am pleased with all the books and give high praise to the author. And yes the hype by other goodreads readers is probably the reason why I read the books before going to see the movies. I was/am blown away by the author's ideas and I was totally just reading and following along to me her storyline did not give me any clue as to where how it was going to turn out but when I read book three I knew had a pretty good guess who Kitnass was going to choose between Gale and Peeta and I was happy with the result as that is who I would have chosen. As you could see the game is not my focus point but the romance triangle but I did want the best outcome for the people and wondered how it would all play out. As always though I wish that maybe at the end of the book 3 there could have been a "making love" scene. These books were PG but I still overall enjoyed all of them.

. It sounded hilarious on the back (which is why I picked it up even though I usually read UF rather than PNR). Inside, the writing was dull and the jokes just weren't funny. I forced my way through five or six chapters and then gave up.

last night, about a psycho whos killing young brunette females across the country, the FBI/cops have no clue how to get ahead of him. also a couple of side story/cases going on at the same time.

I think my big problem was that at times the characters just did not react in realistic ways. Within the first chapter or two, they killed two people (well, zombies) that they knew and had next to no reaction to it. No, OMG we just killed her and I'm covered in blood and brains! No, WTF is going on! Just, darn I ruined my favorite blouse. That being said, it's fairly well written so it reads quickly (it's also short at just under 250 pages), and another person might find it highly entertaining. It just fell flat for me.

I'd never heard of it either but if its more UF than the romance aspect its definitely tweaking my interest now :)
Just finished Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. I enjoyed it but not nearly as much as the first three Mortal Instruments books: City of Bones , City of Ashes and City of GlassI just started City of Fallen Angels

Anything that my mind can make a sense of after hours of work is a lighter read to me these days. xDI've noticed that there are mixed reviews for Shatter Me, I'm currently on the 'Like' side.
@ Lynn,i really liked it, it was just what i needed. i'v been reading heaps of adult UF books l8ly so Shatter Me was a nice change of pace.
