Also, another way to think of a name, is to think of a word that represents him, then find a name that means that word.

i know I do that all the time but they were all these foreign names that i dont know how to pronounce :P haha

One issue I'd have reading a book with a character named Patch is that it's not a very common name and is already used in a pretty well known book at the moment. It would be the same as using the name Harry for a teenage boy, it would just remind me of Harry Potter too much.

Yeah that's been my problem with the name. But Patch just fits him sooo well. And the Patch in Hush Hush and my Patch are about as opposite as you can make them.

Yes, and I could write an awesome novel about a character named Katniss. No matter how different she was, no matter how well the name fit her, it would still remind everyone of the Hunger Games.

I meant, what's his cultutal background, like is he Italian? French? Hispanic?

Irish, i know. Not sure of what else. And his name is Peter Romero, but Patch is what everyone calls him

Well there's a girl named Jade who survived a car crash in which all the rest of her family was killed. She moves in with her aunt and uncle and meets two boys: Patch (the boy next door, litterally) and Tanner (the hottie bad boy of the school haha). She has to learn how to live again, since she's kind of really broken up about her family dying. She has a hard time adapting but she has to learn to take joy in the little things and make everything she does count for something important. It's like a young adult romance

yeah i've made an outline for the story and made character profiles.
