Emma | 34 comments Month 1: Read a book that is set in your Birthday Month, or has the name of the month in the title: June

Tangled by Carolyn Mackler Tangled by Carolyn Mackler

This book was divided into four different sections, April, May, June, and July, and each month was focused on a different character. I don't think I would have read it if it wasn't for this challenge, but I quite liked it.

Month 2: Read a book that has your Birthstone in the title, is about your birthstone, or the cover is the colour of your birthstone. June = mother of pearl

Bumped (Bumped, #1) by Megan McCafferty Bumped by Megan McCafferty

Month 3: Read a book that was originally published in the year you were born. The version you read may be a subsequent publication.

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan The Joy Luck by Amy Tan (1989)

Month 4: Read a book written by an author from your country: USA
Third Degree (A Murder 101 Mystery #5) by Maggie Barbieri Third Degree by Maggie Barbieri

Month 5: Read a book set in a country you'd like to visit: Australia
The Winds of Heaven by Judith Clarke The Winds of Heaven by Judith Clarke

Month 6: Read a book from your favorite genre
The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart.
It's a children's novel and just as enrapturing as Harry Potter. I know many people compare Twilight and The Hunger Games to Harry Potter, but I think this book is better suited for that comparison.

Month 7: Read a book written by an author who shares your first or last name.

Landing by Emma Donoghue

Same first name, since it would be near impossible to find an author with the same last name.

Month 8: Read a book that has your favorite flower either on the cover or in the title.
The Ghost Orchid by Carol Goodman The Ghost Orchid by Carol Goodman
I read this back in September but never updated this list. It was spooky and definitely creeped me out when I read it before bed.

Month 9: Read the book that has been on your TBR list the longest.

Month 10: Read a book that has your favorite animal or bird on the cover. Hummingbird

On Hummingbird Wings A Novel by Lauraine Snelling On Hummingbird Wings by Lauraine Snelling

Month 11: Read a memoir or biography of someone you admire.
Currently Reading: Paula My Story So Far by Paula Radcliffe Paula: My Story So Far by Paula Radcliffe, British distance runner

Month 12: Read a book about an issue/cause that is meaningful to you. Food Allergy Awareness

Don't Kill the Birthday Girl Tales from an Allergic Life by Sandra Beasley
