Possible Sequel
yes it would be really disappointing if the sequel doesn't live up to it but Lucy Christopher has definitely left her options open for a sequel, and i hope she does write one. preferably a letter from Ty's point of view. :Dwhat the hell i want a sequel soooooo bad it's driving me insane!!! i LOVE this book and NO OTHER BOOK IS GOOD ENOUGH IN COMPARISON!!! GAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!
It depends...the book doesn't need a sequel but the author could create one if she wanted too. The Sequel just needs to address certain problems from the previous book (but not allow those problems to be the sole theme of the book)and include new questions/obstacles relating to Gemma's and Ty's relationship.
Leah wrote: "It depends...the book doesn't need a sequel but the author could create one if she wanted too. The Sequel just needs to address certain problems from the previous book (but not allow those problems..."I completely agree with you.
But as a reader & fan of the 1st book, even if the sequel didn't get good reviews, I would prolly buy it because I just love this author's writing style & can get lost in this little world again. :)
i didn't like the end...there are many things which were not mentioned such as:what happened in the court?how many years Ty was prisoned?did he escaped?did he return in the desert alone?when he got out of prison,he was looking for his mother or gemma?and about gemma...she was actually in love with him?she was thinking about him?she was visiting him in prison?how was her life after that?her relationship with her parents, ben, anna, josh?did she ever returned to ty and to the desert?
I wouldn't want a sequel because I enjoy stand alone novels. It seems every interesting book idea has 3 or more books in the series. It gets expensive and unnecessary. Also, I think she ended the book perfectly, I really dont see how she could continue with it. The entire point is she's kidnapped by Ty and is stranded in the middle of nowhere. Without the magic of having the setting in Australia, it wouldn't be as good.
well it would be awesome if she wrote sequel about ty getting out of jail and meeting gemma again.and having a lovely relationship!that would be the best, sweet and heartbreaking ending!because the first book was a totally cliffhanger!
Oh, please let there be a sequel. I want an ending like the Dark Duet Seduced in the dark! For the record, I think the majority of us now suffer from Stockholm's Syndrome. I know I do!
Oh my goodness! what's not to love about Ty, I'm sure he's charming, like's the wilderness.. the star, the sands, the paint, the ring oooh..it's still heart breaking..I can't take it...*sniff sniff
Yes! The ending of the book left so much room for a Sequel. I thought the ending could have been happier, but saying that the author was being realistic and it made the book seem more like a real story. If there is a sequel I am definetly buying! Cannot wait!
I WANT a sequel the way this book ended is driving me crazy. (translation: i Just want more of ty and to see if their relationship progresses)It could start off like this
So, I just found out Ty got out of jail and i began to think about what happened 2 years ago.
Gemma wrote: "exactly!! it's like, "seriously, Gemma, he's a hot blond-haired, blue-eyed Aussie guy who only wants a bit of love and affection, any girl in the right mind could NOT say no to that!!" yes she was ..."after a couple of months he definitely wouldve had me :P
Sarah wrote: "I think that if a sequel WORKS, she should totally do it- but I sort of liked it as a stand alone and I'd hate to have her ruin it just because (or for money). I feel like Gemma's story is basicall..."Totally agree, I think it would be incredibly difficult to measure up to such a great book! Personally, I think a book from his perspective, while some parts may be interesting, would be rather repetitive. A book about her life after she gets home could be interesting though!
A sequel would be amazing. But if there is a cliffhanger ending you get to pick the ending. Decide what happens and what doesn't. I even talked to Lucy about this and that's pretty much what she told me.
I think it's an amazing novel, but I don't see how she could make it into a sequel. It's one of those stories that works perfectly as a single novel in my opinion
Loved this book, a very unique story. I don't think it needs a sequel. We don't know what happens to Gemma and Ty which allows readers to make up their own version.Don't want the book to lose its charm.
I thought this was an excellent standalone and does not need a sequel. Since I enjoyed the writing style if the author did a sequel, I would read it.
Omg I'd totally read it! I was hoping there was a sequel! There should be another book from Ty's point of view!
I would LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE a sequel. I just finished it today and can't freaking stop thinking about this book :(
I think it would be interesting to have a sequel, but would it be in letter format? It might be interesting to read a letter from him to her, maybe written by him while he was put away. Sort of seeing the situation from his point of view. I would read it.

I would love a sequel! I love Ty despite what he did. He didn't exactly hurt her in her stay with him.
Kimberly wrote: "I would love a sequel! I love Ty despite what he did. He didn't exactly hurt her in her stay with him."Youre right but if he wanted her, there was a better way to go about it lol!
I would a sequel - maybe she could visit him in prision but i dont think it will happen. What else is there now he is in prision ??
Beth wrote: "I would a sequel - maybe she could visit him in prision but i dont think it will happen. What else is there now he is in prision ??"He could get out? And maybe go looking for her again?
I know, I am kinda sick but I think she was in love with him so after jail she can prove what she feels. I don't want him again going after her :(Poor Ty! LOL x
she'll probably say something like "a few months ago i wouldnt have done this, but this is diffrent and i am diffrent."I am going after Ty
lol
I really need Lucy to write it, PLEASEEE!!! She said she might write it and she already knows what it would be about but she also said she's writing another book now, dammit!I just LOVE kidnapping books LOL

I want THIS!!! :3 ITA Rosa ;)
I NEED a sequel so bad....
Not sure how I feel about a sequel. I thought the book ended where it should. I am a sucker for a HEA ending, but should this book really have one?
It is a testiment the the skills of the story teller, that we all (myself included) wanted her to end up with Ty. He was sick. He needed help. He drugged and kidnapped Gemma...it is NOT an offence that should be overlooked, just because he is sweet to her when he takes her out to the middle of the outback.
So he gets out of jail, gets help, and somehow crosses paths with Gemma again...Do I want to see them develop a relationship under the new context?
Then doesn't that turn this into the same story that has already been told, about the coulple that have a troubled history, but have a connection they can't deny, family and friends don't want them together and yet they can't stay apart.
What made me really fall in love with this book was the fact that I got stockholm syndrome right along with Gemma. Against my better judgement I wanted them to end up together. How can a sequel live up that unique quality?

Well said!!
I totally agree with message 57 (By Vicky) I really do want to know the answers to all those questions.... Interesting enough, I read the book after my sister did,(She's 2yrs 11mnths older) and we had completely different reactions. My reaction was,
DONT GO TO PRISON DUDE!!!!! PLEASE GOD END UP TOGETHER,PLEASE!!! ... It wasn't a disease love, how dare they! They would be a beautiful couple!!!
While her reaction was, wait for it:
It's a damn good thing they're apart, and it's amazing how diseases can really mess up your brain and emotions... poor girl...

April have you read Captive in the Dark or Seduced in the Dark? I must warn you they are definetly dark reads, but you have the same emotions about the captor and he does some terrible things to the young girl he kidnaps, but by the end, I was rooting for them to be together and I didnt believe it was Stockholm Syndrome... Dont know what that says about me, but it was one of my favorite series....

Or what if the sequel were in Ty's point of view? that would be loads better than a sequel with the continuing story being a disappointment. I'd rather it be in Ty's point of view a thousand times.
