I have looked at this a few times but always been persuaded towards a more modern book. It's been in my to read list since Christmas. Great choice Patti. Just like In the blood it is taking me out of my normal genre which I am learning with the kindle is so much more satisfying. Thank you.
I read this years ago but look forward to second time around. Have to finish off That Summer in Ischia.
A book I would never have picked for myself, however, I have downloaded and looking forward to trying something different, that's what my Kindle is all about for me :-)

I should have finished the discussion thread before I downloaded...too late I paid £1.90 for my copy of white Fang.Lesson learned.
Just downloaded it. I'm currently reading The Circling Song - read about it on here and it's absolutely brilliant! Shouldn't be long finishing it though.
Read Wite Fang earlier in the year won't say a word about it yet, hope you all enjoy it.

At least the author's not waiting in the wings anxious about our reviews and questions! I have downloaded it, and will get around to reading it, but I am in the middle of a book I just bought, have another waiting that has just been released, and by the time I've read that, another that I have on pre-order will have been released, and I'm really looking forward to it. I think I might be too late with White Fang for the discussions.
I so want to read this book. But I am a little aprehensive about it. At the risk of sounding like a total weirdo, I am very OVER-sensitive when it comes to reading or watching anything with animals in it (particularly dogs). I remember wanting to read Marley and Me a few years ago and couldn't bring myself to do it. Couldn't even watch Animal Hospital when it was on a few years ago...lol.
I am sure whatever it is stems back to my childhood because my mother tells me she had to ban Lassie from being watched in our house because I was inconsolable after each episode.
(Btw confessing this does not make me feel any less of a weirdo about it, in fact it's rather embarrassing). ;-)

Everyone has that little something that makes them that wee bit different. You're quirky not weird thats the way i look at it :o)
Maureen, I'm honoured that you feel so comfortable with us! Have a google of the book and see what you think. I completely understand if you decide to give it a pass. I have a sister in law who feels exactly the same!

No problem, Geoff. In the Blood is still our 'book of the month' until August 20th and White Fang is til September 1st. We're trying to accommodate all reading speeds and everyone's opportunity to spend time reading in their busy lives. Have you a suggestion for a better title? Preferably with a pun in it!
Arg!! Having just discovered how to show progress on book I cant get rotten page numbers up on White Fang. Mutter.I actually do not care if I finish WF - I was so totally gobsmacked by a perfect sentence on the first page that the rest of the book risks being an anti-climax.

Like the sound of perfect sentences. A really well written book is lovely.
