Dear oh dear, how time does get away from me. Here we are at the end of July already. Sorry, I probably should have started this discussion a week ago.
Time for a vote! We had already decided on Matched I hope all your library copies have come in? ;)

As most people seem to enjoy a second book as well, I've carried over a few from last month, as well as added a few that have been passed on to me. Feel free to add to the list any that you are interested in.
The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie
White Oleander
Secret Daughter
A Discovery of Witches
The Hunger Games

Any other suggestions?

Jocelin I think that Matched is a good match for August. ;)

Not a lot of voting going on, though it is a long weekend. I'm going to extend this a few extra days, to give everyone a chance to get a word in.
I'll check back in a couple days.

Is it confirmed that Matched is the read for August?

We'll definitely read Matched, since everyone agrees with it. Since there doesn't seem to a lot of enthusiasm in the warm summer months, maybe I won't suggest a second book. I'll hang on to the suggestions for September.
Happy reading!

M.L. Hi - Looking forward to Matched.
For the second read, how about The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie, the mystery, sounds like fun! The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie (Flavia de Luce, #1) by Alan Bradley

I don't think I will get matched from the library ... Still on a waiting list.. Will try for the other book.

message 13: by M.L. (new)

M.L. Me too, I'll probably start Matched this weekend - I'm almost finished with A Game of Thrones!

Karen (karen2023) Oooooh, I hope we can consider The Hunger Games for September or at least before the end of the year. I'm hearing so much good about this series, but everyone I've talked to about it refuses to tell me anything about it, just that I will like it. Intriguing!!

I agree entirely with anyone who has kept you in the dark. It really is an awesome read, and you really don't want to know what's coming!

Hunger Games is really good. We can most definately add it to our list to read! I'm on the second book (almost finished) I would love to discuss these books.
