Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Hi all,

I had the honor of being on Serenity King's blog today! Check out my post where I talk about interracial relationships and the many misconceptions people have about them. I hit some points that I think we all have witnessed at some time.

Dee (Joycee) | 103 comments Nice starter list. Here are some more misconceptions.
Black women marry White men because she can be more financially secure than with a Black men.
Black women are only getting the men White women don't want.
Once he is satisfied in the bed, he will be her fool.

Now we all know none of these are true. Can we think of any others?

Fiona, I read your comment and thought it was wonderful!

The FountainPenDiva, Old school geek chick and lover of teddy bears (thefountainpendiva) | 1216 comments The fact that we're still even discussing this nonsense is troublesome to me. I find it maddening that it is always black women who have to defend our dating/marriage choices or to put people "at ease". It's a no-brainer that black women--like most people--just fall in love the same damn way that human beings do. These are not misconceptionsas much as they are used to shame black women into not following our hearts.

Be that as it may, I loved the blog and will definitely FB and LJ it.

Stacy-Deanne Stacy-Deanne (wwwgoodreadscomstacydeanne) Vix, I agree. Black women are always scrutinized for their choices more than anyone else. Thanks so much for spreading the word about the post. I appreciate that!
