I think that's true for a lot of books about vampires, mermaids, angels, werewolves, fairies.

Elliott | 35 comments I'd say most paranormal books are written for girls.

Jessica | 7 comments No, I think they try to make a book appealing to both boys and girls. So they add romance for the girls to pick up the book and they add adventure for the boys. If a book only focuses on one of them then they are probably directed to one gender.

Elliott | 35 comments I don't know, I like books without romance sometimes. I think romance in books like that get overdone/cliche/forced and the story would be better if it wasn't there or if it was more subtle.

Polly | 13 comments I think paranormal books are more appealing to girls. But that doesn't necessarily mean boys won't enjoy them. Boys will like the adventure in the book. They just might not enjoy them as much as girls.

Lillian | 29 comments i think that guys would read/enjoy paranormal books more, if it weren't for all the romance. Some romance is good, but almost all paranormal romance books are getting to be the same, boring, story and plot lines, with only a few changes.

Annie (lovetodance) | 24 comments Not necessarily. Romance is an important part of paranormal books, but so is the adventure! That's equally as important in a lot of them! I do think that the whole romance part does draw some boys away from the books, though (although I bet some boys like the romance but just won't admit it ;)). But anyway, I don't really enjoy reading all the romance stuff anyway... and I'm a girl. It's so common and not interesting since it's a major part of nearly every book these days... authors need to start doing something more original! :)
