Plus the story is so well written, it really won't let you go.

Yeah, but money does no good if you're frozen to death! The track record for explorers of that time isn't very good to start with. Add to that the possibility of being frozen in the ice for months or years?

I gave it 3 stars. It was good. I thought it had a real chance at being great, but fell down somewhere along the line. The end threw a twist out there which I don't think was fully realized to its potential.

So I finally joined the 21st century and bought a Kindle Fire today. Amazon has them for $129 today only, if you enter the code FIREDEAL at checkout. I figure a $200 Kindle for $130 was worth it. And now I have no excuse to not read Kealan's Timmy Quinn series. ;)

I have a Kindle Keyboard 3G. Then when I checked my points at work a few weeks back, I had a whole big bunch and two Fires were available through the program, so I got the HD with the 7" screen and it came with a cover.
I'm still finding my way around it.
I thought the backlighting would hurt my eyes, but I was wrong. It has a 'sepia' tone you can set it to and then I just lowered the brightness and it's working well.

Ah cool! I hope I can figure out how to DL all the Kindle stuff I saved to my computer to the Fire once I get it in. I have a lot of Scott Nicholson's books in my Kindle for PC files plus some classic freebies like Lafcadio Hearn's ghost stories of Japan, China and more.

But damn, I'm at 90% complete, and I'm only typing this because I needed a moment to breathe. It's my first Little. The guy can flat-out write.

Charlene, it was superb. I dare say, better than I hoped it would be. I loved the characterizations, how the seemingly separate storylines came together and the perfect ending. Nice, very nice. I will never think of the word rebirth in quite the same way.
