What Are You Reading?

I really enjoyed it and am thinking of re-reading 'Salem's Lot to compare them. They are both vampire "take-over" stories but of course 'Salem's Lot is on a much smaller scale.

Somehow though, I thought a lovefest would be more fun.

Why, thank you, Charlene!

****SPOILER***** I am looking at what I think is a typo or flat out mistake by the author. If you go to Chapter 12, page 129, the heading gives the latitude, longitude and date, which is May 24-June 3, 1847. It then goes into Dr. Goodsir going with the men of the Erebus, led by Lt Gore onto the ice to try and find clear water, only to be decimated by a lightning storm that injures one of the men.
The next chapter, Chapter 13 on page 141, shows the date as June 3, 1946....and the captain sees the men coming back to the ship with Lt Gore dead. Clearly they have just come back from the same trip on the ice but something happened on the way back. But THE DATES ARE WRONG! Gore can't be alive in 1847 if he died in 1846? I think they screwed up the 1846 date. Did anyone else catch this?*****END SPOILERS*****

Other than the date screw up are you enjoying it?

I wouldn't be much help, Aurora. In fact, I'm planning to re-read Frankenstein sometime this month.

Other than the date screw up are you enjoying it?"
Oh yes! Absolutely-it's only because I am so into it that I paid such attention to detail in the first place!

I'm amazed at the typos I'm finding in my old paperbooks."
I see words spelled incorrectly from time to time but this one really took me by surprise and I wasted a good twenty minutes making sure I wasn't just a dunce, missing something obvious. LOL

Just started Say You're Sorry.
