On 7/20/11 I received the following email from our local public library, Crandall Library in Glens Falls:
=====================================
Crandall Public Library presents the free theatrical program:
Barbara Bates Smith in "Ivy Rowe"
Thursday, July 28 at 7:00 PM in the Community Room

"The spunky mountain woman character from the novel Fair and Tender Ladies, Ivy Rowe (portrayed by Barbara Bates Smith) takes us, in a flashback, through her life of “livin’ on love.” With a sensuous nature and a flair for storytelling, she paints a vivid picture of 20th Century revivals, mine disasters, rural electrification, the Depression, and three wars."

Original production directed by Mark Hunter.

"Theatrical excitement! A lifetime's worth of sass hoop, hurt, and reflection." —Village Voice

"A rare and heartfelt performance that pays tribute to the women of Appalachia." —Herbert Mitgang, New York Times

-adapted by Barbara Bates Smith from the novel Fair and Tender Ladies by Lee Smith
(musical accompaniment by Jeff Sebens)

Nina | 6069 comments Joy, I am still not receiving goodreads emails but I did get an answer from someone who is working on it. Hopefully, she can help me. She said she even verified my email address manually. Then today I turned on my Goodreads account and it informed me that they couldn't send me any messages until I confirmed my email. Enough to drive someone crazy. I am getting there; plus this 100 degree heat keeps going nowhere but here...nina

Joy H. (joyofglensfalls) | 16697 comments Nina, I hope that the Goodreads representative who is working on your problem will find a solution. Keep sending him/her emails describing your problem just as you did above.

After a while, if the GR rep doesn't solve the problem, you can go to the Goodreads Feedback group and create a topic describing your problem. The Feedback group is here:
http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1...

I hope the problem will be solved soon.
