lol I feel you soooooo much. I definitely still like Twilight. I think I'll always like it, even love it. But no, Bella couldn't have done anything like that. I'd have to say that I'd choose VA over Twilight any day. Vampire Academy is my favorite series because of the plot, action, characters, badass female and male lead, and overall. With Twilight, I loved book 1 & 3 but not so much book 2 & 4. There were also other aspects of it that I didn't like. Overall it was a good series and it's the one that I started with so I'll always like it despite what others say.

Definitely... I don't agree that it's an heir to Twilight because it was nothing like Twilight. Both worlds are distinctly unique and have nothing to do with one another.
"harry potter, vampire academy, hunger games, vampire diaries, true blood, twilight all need to be thought about differently and not compared to each other"
I agree with this as well... although some are in the same genre (vampires, witches, etc.) the worlds are distinctly different and cannot be compared.
People should just take books/series for what they are. Say what you like/dislike but comparisons suck so much. It's one thing when an author pretty much copies another author and it's pretty much the same exact story line but definitely with Twilight vs Vampire Academy, the worlds are completely different and although I do like Twilight, it's not even in the same genre or league that Harry Potter is in since it's been around for 10+ years.

kimi agreed 100% i've compared before in the past but now it's just silly each series brings something diff. to the table...im def. a potter fan and for me harry potter is endgame but i def. appreciate what other books have brought to the table its just like all these comparisons seem to do is make people feel stupid for liking what they like or pitting fans against each other i think there is enough room in the universe for twihards, potterheads, mockingjays, not sure what vampire academy die hards call themselves but there is room for them too lol

Agreed! Bella has this will power and courage but Rose put it into action, she kicks ass!and very independent :)

And that's why I'm in love with a female lead character for the first time ever. I've never believed in the female lead like I do with Rose. There's not really much that I didn't like about any Vampire Academy characters. Even the bad characters had reasons for why they did what they did. Everything fit together. There's really nothing that I didn't like about the series. Rose will always be one of my favorite bad ass chicks. I'm sure I'll have more one day but out of all of the series that I've read, I loved other series but I never loved any female leads like the males. Right now Rose is my only one.

True there is something real about her you know, she is strong but still feels like a normal person someone you can relate to. She is not fragile and all perfect. So is say when it comes to the paranomal books Rose in my favorite character plus i have a thing for her family her mother and father are just make me like the story even more. You know, i also like the idea of her being bound to her best friend rather than Dimitri it makes friendship come out to. i know i'm ranting but like you said i don't like comparing the books each is good in its own way that was just a questionable review i went over. So go team Rose!

I know right! Its fine to Rant! I totally feel u. I love the friendship aspect too. She doesn't need a man to complete her although they do complete each other. She cares about others and not just him.

thats my point exactly, it values friendship as well as love.they are equals not anything else

Yeah, and I also love how the friendship became part of the conflict. you know, should she stay with Lisa or fulfill her promise to Dimitri? Very dynamic :D

Yep and even though she had to leave Lissa for a while, she still ended up helping her and meeting others who could help her with what she was going through. And she was able to help Dimitri too. Sometimes it was hard to balance but she didn't choose one over the other. =)

true, true. i love that.

I'm completely with you. I read Twilight and really really like it but then I read VAmpire Academy and I saw perfection!! lol!! All the things missing in Twilight are here a 100% better here.

Most definitely! Now they just need to make the VA movie which I already know will be amazing as long as they pick the right people.

which will totally ruin it if they [ick the wrong people, its a huge gamble; one wrong person and they'll send it to hell.

Lol like Kristen Stewart in twilight hahaha that bothered me. I'm so passionate about this series. They have to choose the right people!
