I bought it when she reduced it recently, but no idea when I will get to read it.

I gave up on Crime in the Community at 26%, no idea what to read next though.

I'm now reading The Dickson McCunn Trilogy, I've nearly finished the first story, Huntingtower which I have read before but I'm still enjoying it. I would really recommend this, it's a charming tale, written in the early 1920s so some attitudes reflect the times, but otherwise it is a charming tale of Dickson McCunn, retired, romantic shop owner and a bunch of ragamuffins called the Gorbals Die Hards. I love the humourous way that it is written. I've never read the other two books in the trilogy - so I hope that they are just as good.

Last night I started and finished (it's quite short) The Inbetween by Sue Kendrick. She's on our Author threads. It's a nice, slightly magical tale for this time of year, taking place in a great hall at the time of Yule. 4* review. Nicely written too, in an antique style.

Still dipping in and out of things - finished reading Huntingtower in the The Dickson McCunn Trilogy and loved it, finding it hard going with the next though, bit more stodgy and starts with an in depth description of a rugby match *yawn*. Broke off then to read a couple of romances from the kindle sale, Once upon a Christmas (nice and soppy) and Perfecting Fiona - nice, light, easy reads. Now about to start the next in the School for Manners series, Enlightening Delilah

Started a Ken McClure book last night - already 46% in. Great story, spoilt for me by the naff way it's been enkindled. Words broken in the middle - im-possible and con-fusing. There are too often missing quotation marks which in conversations makes it very strange and you need to re-read to see who's talking. An indie would have checked!

I finished by Diane Chamberlain yesterday morning. The Good Father is a gripping, touching and thought-provoking read. The three main characters are Travis, Robin and Erin and each of the chapters in the novel is narrated by one of these characters. Some of the chapters do jump from the present to the past but I thought the story was still easy to follow. Some parts of the story were very unrealistic and far-fetched and the ending of the novel was a bit of a letdown as I thought it was very predictable. It really seemed like the author had rushed out an ending just to make a deadline. I gave this one 3 stars.

Finished reading M C Beaton's school for manners series and am now reading Agatha Raisin and the Terrible Tourist. All nice, lighthearted fun reads. I read Agatha in ones and twos, otherwise I get fed up with them. In small doses like that, I enjoy them.

Just finished Ken McClure's The Trojan Boy- disappointingly transferred to kindle. Old line breaks shows by hyphen-ated words - missing quotation marks. Pretty poor - story not bad but spoilt.

Just finished Furious. It was well written and entertaining, but it was also the literary equivalent of 'the flashbacks episode' in a US TV series. So I only gave it 3 stars. Shame, cos it's been months waiting for it, and it'll be a year till the next one in the series comes out.

I finished reading a book I last read twenty years ago, “Watchers” by Dean Koontz. I believe my intense love for animals began after I first read that book. A movie was made from the book, but the movie was so different, I didn’t care for it at all.
I also read, "A Miracle For Charlie", by Carolann Hays...it's a short story, and I loved it. I am following her very closely, and have read everything she has written so far. I can't wait for her next book.
