Finished Fool's Errand . I've had a bit of a Robin Hobb marathon lately. Time for something else so just started First Blood

It's very good so far. And makes a nice change to read something with very short chapters. :)
Now there's a thought. Perhaps this December I should only read books I downloaded last December.Nawwwwww
Just finished The Ice Marathon. Shorter than I expected. Now I need to start reading Nicholas Nickleby as it's this month's kuf bookclub choice.
I finished One for the money, not in a rush to read more. Just started Hell House by Richard Matheson
I started Six Geese A-Laying - Sophie Kinsella yesterday and finished it this morning. Didn't think much of the storyline.
I read half a Sophie Kinsella once. It was enough to teach me that she doesn't write in one of my preferred genres!

I finished Wasted by Marya Hornbacher last night. It's a highly regarded eating disorder memoir, banned from some recovery clinics as triggering (my review). Makes my eating disorder (of twenty years ago) look mild.Just started The End of Faith by Sam Harris. As much as I enjoy his views and wit, the relentless references to people as having a male gender will see me struggling through this book.
Finished The Penal Colony, surprisingly good for a freebie, tho ultimately a little linear in plot, and I wasn't emotionally engaged. Made a start on A Lively Form of Death but really couldn't be bothered to finish it. A rather dull 'Midsomer Murders' type book, riddled with formatting errors. Have now started Ian Rankin's latest Rebus, Standing in Another Man's Grave - thank goodness, after the dreary Impossible Dead, he's back on form. Safe hands again :)
I finished reading
by S.E. Hinton last night. This was my first time reading The Outsiders. I never managed to get around to reading it as a teenager but I've heard so many people say it is one of their favourite books so I thought it was about time that I read it finally. And now that I've finished the book I can't believe I waited so long! The Outsiders is a gripping and compelling read which is full of suspense. It was also extremely heart-breaking and touching at times. The novel is very well-written, considering S.E. Hinton was just seventeen years old when she wrote it. I was amazed with the amount of depth and layers in this book. It really is wonderful. Five stars! My full review is here: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Today I've started reading
by Charlotte Rogan.
This morning I finished Merry Christmas, Alex Cross - James Patterson. Now I am going to read Witchy, Witchy - Penelope King.
Finished The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 and was disappointed to find it ended at 70% then an extract of some other book stuck on the end plus a load of adverts. Not impressed. Have started Fifth Season to give me time to think of what book to start next, I am thinking Winter in Madrid
I found Winter in Madrid quite impressive Jud. Read it a couple of years ago for the village Book Group.
Read The Last Queen of England on Saturday.Really enjoyed it but have not even opened my Kindle since. This is the longest I have gone without reading in 18months:@(

Sarah! You're going to go into withdrawal!
Quick! Someone hand her a kindle before she starts twitching!
PMSL Patti! I agree 100% Jud and Ignite. I think I need a wee draft of Words to the Wise to cure my apathy!
Oh dear ,Sarah and Ignite now look what you have done ,had to download The Last Queen of England, had forgotten about Steve's 3rd book .

I loved it, so much going on in both incidents that Alex had to deal with x
After reading the first review for One Strange Christmas, it's bumped right to the top of my list of books to read whilst taking a breather reading Nicholas Nickelby, especially with the Ignite seal of approval
Ignite wrote: "Just started and finished (it's a short story) One Strange Christmas - delightful!"I'm reading that just now too!
