Last night I finished Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James. It was an intense books. It had me crying, laughing and even cringing at the events of Mr Grey and Ms Steele. Now I am going to read Fifty Shades Darker - E.L. James.
Well, I have to admit that the reason I have recently finished Steve Robinson's new book To The Grave (so new it's not here yet) is because I had a pre publication copy but I have to tell you it's a fabulous read. I'll put the link on when he has uploaded it. If you enjoyed In the Blood you'll love this one. Even better in my opinion. To the Grave
I have just finished Foul Justice and shall be starting the next in the JT series by our lovely Steve Robinson To the Grave
Emma wrote: "Just finished The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I loved it. Gripping and Beautifully written."Beautiful book Emma!
Just finished Kill My Darling (Bill Slider, #13) which I really enjoyed and have started To the Grave.
I just finished reading Nancy Bilyeau's The Crown. It reads like a 16th century thriller but with great character development. One Dominican sister can sure get into a lot of trouble. Maybe a good description would be a page-turner with soul. My review.
Have just finished Punishment by Anne Holt, a good read, with some appealing and original characters. Getting through last year's backlog still, so think I'll try The Dress next for something totally different.
... so far, so good - it's got me hooked!
Managed to get about 5% into A Long Time Dead Quite enjoying it so far. I wish I had time to sit and read it!
I've just started the second in the series Patti. Stealing Elgar. It's so good I had to stay up late last night - I'm at 20%.Just finished The Cambridge List by Robert Clear. Very funny in a ridiculous way. Takes me back to Porterhouse Blue in some ways. I'm glad there's to be a sequel to this too.
While I was away on holiday I finished reading See Before You Die: Patagonia which I enjoyed. Chicklit, mystery and travel book rolled into one - I found it more serious than her first book, See Before You Die: Costa Rica but I still enjoyed it.
I also read, and loved, To the Grave. I thought that it was even better than In the Blood. Some of the writing was quite beautiful and the ending was gripping!
Now I am reading First Light which is interesting. I've had it on my wish list for ages and bought it in the sale - it's over £7 again now!

FinishedThe Paris Wife at last ( I can only read it while I'm babysitting) and started Seth, Dreams and Projections Of Consciousness.
Lorraine I thought it started off slow but by about 30% it got better. I preferred his other book The Killing Room.
I've been reading some short stories by our authors today and have loved all of them!
Relationship Status
The Brothers Grimm and Bearit Fairy Tales
and half way through Time Child and Other Stories
Really enjoyed all of them!

I've just finished reading Time Child and Other Stories which I enjoyed, I especially liked the first story - Time Child.
Now I've just started Shakespeare's Cuthbert. I've only read the first chapter so far but I am loving the way it is written and finding it very funny.

I liked Time Child and Other Stories too.
I read To the Gravelast week & have two Terry Pratchett's on the go - Snuffand one of the science booksThe Science of Discworld III: Darwin's Watch
I'm pondering my review for Steve's book - as you know I don't write many reviews, I think I owe Darren a couple or three plus about 100 others.
Hold me down - I've just finished Stealing Elgar by 'our' Andy Barrett. It's the second of a trilogy featuring his SOCO protagonist, Roger Conniston. I'll be reading the third. It was so exciting and 'filmic'.Just about to start The Blackhouse by Peter May for our village book group.
I've just finished To the Grave (FINALLY) and I think I will refer to my excel sheet to help me decide what to read next :o)
Ignite wrote: "Hold me down - I've just finished Stealing Elgar by 'our' Andy Barrett. It's the second of a trilogy featuring his SOCO protagonist, Roger Conniston. I'll be reading the third. It was so excitin..."They look good Ignite, can you tell me the order they need to be read in please.
A Long Time Dead first,Stealing Elgar next, then
No More Tears though I haven't read the last one. I most certainly shall! they are great stories.
Just finishedBeyond Evil (DC Laura McGanity, #6)..This is a stand alone novel and not number 6 in the series.Just started Ripper.
I'm ploughing my way through Smallworld. I have to say I wasn't impressed to begin with, but it's growing on me!
Just finished The Dress by Sophie Nicholls, which was a real delight. Am now back into my more usual fare of murder mystery, A Fatal Thaw
Just finished The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - Do Dragons Dream Of Burning Sheep? and just about to start To the Grave? Loved Darren's book :-)
JUST finished 1984 and now reading Hunted Down, detective stories by Charles Dickens. Not sure i enjoyed 1984, found it very hard to get into
Just finished Ripper,a good story with likeable characters completely ruined by no proof reading.Every page was littered with grammatical and punctuation errors.Glad it was a freebie or i would have been asking for my money back.Just started The Reckoning.
Just finished When We Were Married - Volume 1 The Long Fall. It was a good story, but seemed unnecessarily long. I've just started The Pattern. It's a bit of a slow boil, but good so far.
Yesssssssssssssssssssssss I've just finished The Great Gatsby writing my review of this wonderful novella ... have spent more time writing the review than reading the book. But I put my back into it. I love the book and I KNOW it well now. That is the way to read. Not ticking off a book every two hours. Suck the marrow from what you read and savour it. That said I am glad to be move on from it, was getting sweatily obsessive.
I've just finished reading Shakespeare's Cuthbert. It's very silly and fun; I enjoyed reading it but found that I enjoyed it more in smaller doses - it got a bit much reading it straight through. I can recommend it though if you like your humour silly and unexpectd, it made me laugh several times!
Now I'm reading Build A Man which I am enjoying.

Just finished Peter May's The Blackhouse. A good story with dark secrets, suppressed memories and a body or two. The policeman though, had lost his 8 year old son just 4 weeks before the story began. The book didn't ring true in that the author just occasionally seemed to remember to mention it. Still a jolly good read.About to start Shakespeare's Cuthbert. Karen reminded me that I have it!
