Poor Jud. You need to get some aloe vera. Should really have used it as soon as you burned, but will still help.
Yea I've been slapping the aloe vera on all day yesterday, I had to go buy some so had to wait till Sunday afternoon but I have been very liberal with it. Cold showers are wonderful too I think that shall be the first thing I do when I get home from work tonight. I'm really annoyed at myself cause usually I am really sensible in the sun, but it just didn't feel that hot. Our green had a very cool breeze so that was my undoing I think.
Been away Osprey watching in Cors dyfi, terrific - so have managed to finish The Island, an interesting history of a leper colony rather than a novel, Siren which is another Oxford based cop novel, and then... at last, a great gripping thriller... A World I Never Made - think he's a GR author too - wish I'd read it before but the title always put me off! Anyway, am now swanning through Ann Swinfen's aga saga, The Anniversary, half way thru so hopefully something will happen soon.
Just got back from holidays and I read Fake Kate by David Wailing. It was a terrific read. Good plot and one to make you think.then I read The Golden Web ~ Three Magic Women which is really 2 stories. Beautifully written. I found it fascinating.
Now reading Swords for a Dead Lady by Jim Webster. Can't find it on here.
Finished The Greenhousea good read then started Never Mind by Edward St Aubyn but couldn't get into it. Now I am reading a bit of fluff The Spa.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Ooooh Im reading that too Ignite!"How are you getting on with the sentence structure?
Quite a few proofy errors but I'm getting hung up on the long sentences strung together with commas. He needs some semi colons and even new sentences. At £4-odd I don't like that!

Product Description
Swords for a Dead Lady is perhaps best thought of as a fantasy adventure. There is the discovery of the naked body of a woman hastily buried in a marsh, the quest to discover her identity and hunt down her killer leads our protagonists into ambush, civil strife and even light opera.
Certainly like commas!
Yes. It gets rather hectic reading when he does it all the time. Often it's a different thought he's linking up with a comma.
Rebecca Cantrell has a new book coming out in her Hannah Vogel series. This one is set in Poland and Berlin on the eve of Krystallnacht. I love the way Cantrell gets in big ideas and themes into nail-biting, exciting reading. She's a favorite of mine these days. My review of A City of Broken Glass.
Just started A Long Time Dead by Andrew Barrett. I'm 19% in and it's excellent! However, I'm putting it on hold for a day or two while I huff up the final polish on Steve Robinson's new book. You are all SO going to love this!

Thanks for the lovely words Ignite - glad you enjoyed the read. :)
Well into The Nature of Personal Reality: Specific, Practical Techniques for Solving Everyday Problems and Enriching the Life You Know and browsing Secret Gardens, which just arrived - deliciously full of lovely photos.
This morning I finished Abide with Me - Ian Ayris. Now I am going to see what the hype is about and read Fifty Shades of Grey - E.L. James
Amazon says that people who bought my book also bought 50 Shades of Grey - erm..not quite the same thing (I believe) ;)
LOL!Ye.
It's just wrote in the most horrific way. I won't even get in to how badly it shows a BDSM relationship. I'll leave that rant to someone who managed to finish it.
Not listening! Not listening! What would Miss Havelock say!?How about we turn it into a gardening novel instead?
Fifty Spades of Clay :)

Lmao!
50 Shades of Grey shows as the first book in the list when I open the kindle store.
I've never opened the page to read the blurb.
Is it porn?
I've just finished reading White Oleander by Janet Fitch and I'm about to start The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks.
I'm working my way through the Percy Jackson series at the minute. I started The Battle of the Labyrinth last night after finishing The Titan's Curse the night before.
Last couple days has been all about beta reading. I really like beta reading short stories. I think what I like best is the banter with the authors in email.
Makes me smile to know I've helped, too. :)
Just finished The Middle Temple Murder pretty run of the mill, and starting A Dish Best Served Cold and then thinking about Darren's book in the book of the month.
I'm really behind updating, so will just do the latest two. I read the Andromeda Strain this week and am now starting my month of classics with 1984.
Just finished Nothing to Lose by Lee Child. Not his best.Just started The Wreck of the Margherita by Bill Todd. Been looking forward to this for ages.
I'll be interested to know what you think of Bill Todd's Andrew. I went a bit off the idea of reading his books since he started posting on every thread a couple of times a day in the Amazon MOA forum. I bear a grudge, don't I?
Ignite wrote: "I'll be interested to know what you think of Bill Todd's Andrew. I went a bit off the idea of reading his books since he started posting on every thread a couple of times a day in the Amazon MOA f..."That would completely put me off reading someone's work as well, Ignite.
I just finished The Man From U.N.D.E.A.D. - Do Dragons Dream Of Burning Sheep? which was awesome and have started Final Justice
Just finishedGoodnight Dear: The Unsentimental Diary Of A Bereaved Husband an amazing read, and resuming A Dish Best Served Cold.
Just finished A Long Time Dead by one of our authors, Andrew Barrett. Absolutely amazing. It's a really exciting police procedural thingy and is the first of a trilogy and do you know, I'm going to have to read the others aren't I?Just started The Cambridge List by Robert Clear, another of our authors.
If you like mysteries set in the period of the lost generation, post WWI, when the world had to rebuild its sense of self (not unlike the mood today), Elizabeth Speller's books will interest you. She's especially good at rich character development as well as unconventional plots. Her second book with Laurence Bartram as a somewhat uncertain sleuth is called The Strange Fate of Kitty Easton. Here's my review.
Have been away in beautiful Pembroke for wk/end so hve now finished The Anniversary (least said....), The Calling (Alison Bruce) which was OK, and have now started Anne Holt's Punishment which is more nordic noir and so far so good.PS I have seen a few critiques here of S King's Black House. Please can I put in a word for Peter May's Blackhouse, which I found to be a gem
I've finished reading The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks earlier and now I'm starting Seven Up by Janet Evanovich.
I've just bought the Peter May The Blackhouse as it's next months read for our village Book Group. I'm glad to hear it's better than King's!
Ignite wrote: "I've just bought the Peter May The Blackhouse as it's next months read for our village Book Group. I'm glad to hear it's better than King's!"I think there are a couple more in the series, so am hoping to nab those once I've finished all last year's downloads!
Just finished Out Of Rangeby CJ Box. Read most of his, and as much as anything I like the relaxed style of writing. Always makes me sorry when I've finished one of the books.Would recommend them, now I have so much to chose from, and I can'r remember what I picked last night. Still it'll be a surprise when I do start it!
Just finished Leiyatel's Embrace - wonderful!!!! (review here - http://tollesburytimeforever.blogspot...)Just started The Survival of Thomas Ford
