Too true ignite. I enjoyed the story line but felt it was a little rushed in places. I have noticed that we were both blown away with The Help, so maybe not too different.

I loved that book too - one of a handful of books that were outstanding for me in the last year! (the others were Richard Wilde, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and The Blue Suitcase)

How are you getting on with Boudica Ignite?

message 1065: by Kath (new)

Kath Middleton | 23860 comments Just read the first Geoff. However, Christmas here will be unusually quiet - daughter and family off to the in-laws. 2 of our 3 remaining parents in residential care - they'll get a visit of course, but it's dinner for self, husband and my sister. If I can't get the second read then I'll be surprised!

What is the Time Hunters & the box of Eternity all about, I have seen it mentioned quite a lot of late & would value your opinion Ignite.

Time Hunters, book 1, is intended for teens but is a very well constructed, intelligent and interesting story and has a lot of adult fans (including me!) Some of the characters, from myth an history, are brilliantly rendered. The second book continues the story, I hope.

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments I started Time Hunters last night. Could have sworn I'd read it months ago and I wanted to reread it before starting the second. Obviously I hadn't!
It's really quite excellent. I'm looking forward to getting my nose back in it later.
