Snuff

Need funny now so I've started Will's Love, Death and Tea
Zombies. Haven't read a zombie book in ages.

Got it, but yet to read.

In that case, I'll take a look when I can afford to get hooked.

Did you enjoy Before I Go to Sleep? I read it a year or two ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.

I've had this copy for nearly 3 years, I've been meaning to read it and see what all the fuss was about. Well now I have read/listened to the book, I've still yet to make my mind up. Not seen the film neither.
It starts off weird to the extent I don't know much about amnesia and the effects it can have on the person and the family. It brings you in to think Christine is out of her mind daily, wondering why she forgets who she is and what's she been doing. It brings you back to her past when she tries to remember things, sees a doctor and the person who is living with her is not who he seems to be. Yes, it was intriguing, but in some parts I can honestly say I was like "Do I want to carry on reading this". I did carry on as I wanted to know if the person was really who she thought.
Not a bad storyline and I can honestly say I gave it 3 stars as to me it was an ok book. Sorry to those who thought it was a page turner, maybe it was just me at the time.

It intrigued the heck out of me so I guess I'm one who thought it was a real page-turner. No need to apologise for feeling differently - it would be a boring world indeed if we all held the same views.

Just so many people had raved lol, so I feel like I've let it down x

Just started Only the Innocent, which is looking interesting.

I've just finished Stories on the Go: 101 Very Short Stories by 101 Authors by 101 different authors. Huge variety of styles and genres and for the most part I enjoyed reading it and found the stories satisfying, which is pretty good going for flash fiction of around 1000 words per story. It could have been more tightly edited and there were formatting niggles but it's a good book for this time of year, when you have short spells for reading or short attention spans!

I loved Gone Girlbut I hadn't read or heard the hype so I came to it fresh. I loved it for its distinctiveness, for being different, its cleverness. However, the characters left me cold - this increased as I read on. Any lingering warmth I felt disappeared (except for the sister.)
As to Before I Go To Sleep I felt rather the same way you did Fiona. Started off well, but nearly stopped reading it towards the end.

I have Gone Girl on my Kindle to read, but had a few weighty paperbacks for Christmas so may not get to it for a while.

I loved that book - the second is a good read as well.

I really want to read before I go to sleep, got a copy last year, maybe I should put it on the pile for this year.
Loved Only the Innocent, her next book, The Back Road is on my list this year. I did accidently buy her third, although Amazon gave me a free book!
I'm persevering with the Penal Code while I'm on holiday, if I don't get more into it when I get to the airport tomorrow, I shall start my first challenge book.

Gone Girl I haven't read but I loved the film!

Loved Rachel Abbott's books - there's another coming out this year, I believe!

Ooh, fab. Gave up on the Penal colony, started 11/22/63, 11% in and enjoying
Im reading all the good deeds by Stacy Green which is the BOTM in a group im in. Enjoying so far. Just read The missing half by Brooke Pooley which I found hard to put down. :)

Currently reading And Playing the Role of Herself by K.E. Lane for my Goodreads Lesbian Book Club. Lovely romance, though a bit hefty on the detail.

Glad you liked it Tim

Just startedThe Way of Kings which seems to be a long 'un.

I've posted my review for Chris Ward's 'The Tube Riders' and it's an excellent adventure set in a dystopian Britain. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the trilogy:

Another one that's been sitting in my TBR forever!

It was a very interesting read in its on right, but would be ideal research material for anyone interested in writing a post-apocalyptic novel.
Recommended.
Now reading Money: The Unauthorised Biography which has started well - with the stone money of Yap.

Am currently 42% through Sun Dragon by Michael Brookes and am rather enjoying it.
Also, I have just sussed that Michael is not only a member of this group, but three notches up this thread :-)
