Just finished - just started
I've just finished Edge of Disaster - A.M. Hargrove. Now I am reading book 4 of The Guardians of Vesturon series ReEmergent - A.M. Hargrove.

I would recommend them.
What has struck me is that I've read sixteen of the stories one after the other and am still enjoying them. Agatha Christie I found I could only read a couple then I had to read something else
I've just finished The Straw Men by Paul Doherty and started Tollesbury Time Forever by Stu AyrisTollesbury Time Forever
I finished
. I quite enjoyed it. I've had a load of J.A. Konrath books and now I've tasted them, I like them. Then onto K and I chose Roger Knowles
. It's quite bleak.
Just finished Inferno which I enjoyed. Typical Dan Brown but a good fast read with good descriptions of the locations. Just started Gray Justice which is exciting so far.
Just started Secrets From The Dust by George Hamilton. It's shaping up to be excellent! Also started re-reading Black by Rose by Andy Barrett because I can't keep away from it. I'm falling in love with it all over again!
I finished Explorers of the Nile: The Triumph and Tragedy of a Great Victorian Adventure which was quite interesting although I got a bit confused at times. I finished Agatha Raisin and the Vicious Vet and Agatha Raisin and the Walkers of Dembley and I started The Redemption of Alexander Seaton, I'm loving it! Was great sitting in the tea room at work looking at Kings College through the window while reading about Alexander visiting Kings! Makes me want to go on a tour of Alexander's Aberdeen.
I've just finished A Calculated Life which was pretty good:http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I'm now onto The Swimmer
Just finished 'A Dreadful Penance' by Jason Vail (mediaeval action-packed), just started Stuart McBride, Shatter the Bones. I like his sense of humour but I think I'm coming to the end of my tolerance for noir. And I'm reading Umberto Eco's The Prague Cemetery. Honest.
Jud (Disney Diva) wrote: "I finished Explorers of the Nile: The Triumph and Tragedy of a Great Victorian Adventure which was quite interesting although I got a bit confused at times. I finished Agatha Raisin and the Viciou..."Brilliant book, I agree. I haven't read the next one yet, apparently set in Ireland.
Spooky, though - I was walking past King's a hour ago!
Just finished The Selfish Gene by Richard Dawkins. Thank Zeus that's over. My pain. Now aching for some light relief. ...
Just started The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling. Have not read any Harry Potter.
Aw Lexie! We could have said hello to each other! Let me know next time your going to be at Old Aberdeen!
I finished The Redemption of Alexander Seaton and shall have to decide what to read next, probably No More Tears

aw, I'd take Dawkins over Potter any day! :-)
Marc wrote: "aw, I'd take Dawkins over Potter any day! :-) ..."I don't think Potter makes an appearance in The Casual Vacancy, Marc?? And Richard Dawkins's The Blind Watchmaker is most definitely still on my TBR list. I just need a looooong break for my head to stop fizzing.
I've just finished Neogothic, it's a fun fantasy adventure:http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I'm still reading The Swimmer
Just finished
The Unfortunates and will post a short review tonight.Probably won't start anything else as need to read a draft of my own WIP to start editing
I just finished No More Tears by Andrew Barrett (on phone so can't do links) which was very exciting and indeed filled with a few of my own worst fears. I highly recommend the series and I hope we see more of Roger Conniston. Started Time Hunters by Carl Ashmore now, finally! I've been hearing about this book for far too long without having read it yet
Finished A Clash of Kings and I've started Dragon Killer. I'm about half-way through so far and it's really good. It's quite fast-paced but there's still time for world-building without expense to the plot.
I finished The Time Hunters, what a fabulous book! I shall have to gather the rest of the series to my kindle. I'm going to give Patrick Moore: The Autobiography a go now and also War and Peace, it is one with free audiobook download but I tried listening to it and it just bored me to tears so I'll try reading instead.

I meant the voice bored me to tears not the actual story although the chapter was only 9 minutes long so reading it may not prove too fruitful either. I'm really surprised at Patrick moore's autobiography. It's really funny, I think I've laughed more in the first 7% than I have in any other entire book. I recommend it (the first 7% anyway)
Im getting through a fair few books at the moment.have started The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed out of the Window and Disappeared.
Its very goodgood
I've just finished
which was on my free book list. It was a nice quick read with a good story and a few twists. I shall keep an eye out for the others in the series.I am now reading I Am Number Four (Lorien Legacies, #1) a completely different genre but I am enjoying it.
I have also just started
in DTF
Finished re-reading
I couldn't remember any of it, although I am certain I've read it before. T'was a good 'un though.
Started reading
which looks like a long bugger, quite liked Pillocks of Earth
though, so maybe it'll be ok.Also started re-reading, for the umpteenth time
and fondly(?) remembering the great Constable Els in all his glory.
I've just finished The Swimmer, it's a good thriller:http://thecultofme.blogspot.co.uk/201...
I'm now onto The Dead Room
In my A-Z I was on L for
which I am enjoying, but I was eager to move onto the Ms and just finished
which was rather enjoyable.

Shame you're missing it all. The Blue Square is trending at the moment. Buy it as soon as you get back!
Just finished Stuart MacBride's Shatter the Bones - darn the man, the humour and setting keep pulling me in, even though it's far too noir for me. Just started Victoria Hislop's The Island, about a leper colony off Crete. Didn't like the beginning which is, I thought, a bit chick-litty (is that a word?) but am now drawn in by the accounts of the colony itself in mid-20th century. Also started C.J. Sansom's Heartstone - good stuff. No blue squares from me! Aren't links something to do with sausages?
Ooh Lexie, I enjoyed both of those - and I agree re the Island. Once it got going and looked at the island's history, it was very interesting.
Just finished A Dying Fall, which is the fifth in the series - and am now going back to read book 2, The Janus Stone, as I found book 5 way too slow in filling in all the back story, and didn't have much of a plot.
Just finished The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling. Absolutely loved it. A masterpiece. Just started Truth Be Told: Adam Becomes Audrey by Alexandra Bogdanovic. Really looking forward to this. A memoir in which the author marries her dream man, to later discover that he identifies as a she and intends to transition.
I've decided to put David Copperfield on hold for now, trading it for Albert Speer's post-war memoir Inside the Third ReichFrom a 19th century classic to fully paid up member of the Nazi party - that's quite a jump.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with Inside The Third Reich, Michael. It sounds like it might be a good book.
I'm a WWII nut, so I'll probably find it utterly fascinating!Rudolph Hoss's memoirs were very interesting as well - Death Dealer: The Memoirs Of The Ss Kommandant At Auschwitz

That's very timely. I tried, and failed, to order the 'Thursday' book using the GR tag. Will now have another go and try & get the first one!
Jim Getting there, now on the 6th Cadfael Omnibus :-)
I really must try and get hold of those books in some format - other than raiding the library of course.
