Philip Whiteland - the man behind Josiah and Archibald (which makes it sound like we're in a queue!)

Thanks Jim. The joy of the memoir, as I'm sure you've discovered, is that you don't have to make anything up and that truth is stranger than fiction!

There have been three instances in my (more realistic) fiction where I've been accused of stretching plausibility too far, but all three incidents were based on real events.

You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment!

No, you're thinking of The Joystrings (and that's showing my age)

Well well. I never heard of them. Maybe because they are from before I was born.

Or... you can either have your pie or eat it!

Is this like 'is the light still on when you shut the fridge door'? (Btw, I've managed to hide your comment on FB - sorry!)

Oh tish!

Never a problem if you remove the little bulb every time you close the door. Keep a plastic cup taped to the refrigerator door for it, and you, too, can live the rest of your life without this huge worry.
It requires a tiny bit of manual labour every time you go for a snack (so, good for weight reduction), but the peace of mind is amazing.

The simplest solutions are often the best ;-)

They must have been doing something in all that time and that sounds as likely to me as anything else ;-)
