Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "What if you offered a free Boost with every copy?"That would more than wipe out any profit margin ;-)
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Well this whole boost concept seems to be a complete bust!"Now that's what I should be giving away ☺
Do you remember 'Look at Life' at the cinema in the 1960s? Well, this is a tale about the one occasion I came to appear in it:http://philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk/2...

My head is the only bit of me that you can see, and then only if you don't blink!

I never even noticed the descriptions........... I just got into the chocolate as fast as I could!! ;-)
Thinking about offering the largest of my books (Crutches For Ducks) as a print book via Amazon's POD thingy. Any thoughts, any experiences anyone wants to share?
Philip wrote: "Thinking about offering the largest of my books (Crutches For Ducks) as a print book via Amazon's POD thingy. Any thoughts, any experiences anyone wants to share?"Apparently not, would appear to be the answer. Oh well, here's the latest update. When I first had a cursory look at this option, it looked quite do-able. Now I've actually sat down and done the sums (or 'the math' as our transatlantic cousins insist on saying) I've realised that potential customers would have to take out a mortgage to afford the book, if it was a direct copy of the current e-book, with colour photos and everything. Even reducing it all to black and white wouldn't make it sufficiently cheap, unless I sold it at cost and it would still be expensive even then. Humph!

I just pick up more day jobs in dying industries :-(
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Not being a success is a very proper british thing."I feel vindicated. At least, that's what I think that awful sinking feeling is.

At one time, I had the enviable record of every single company I left had either moved away or shut down shortly after I left. I tried not to take it personally.

LOL
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Not being a success is a very proper british thing."As long as you do it with panache? Or without complaining? I'm a little less certain what you expect of foreigners.
Complaining is another long-established british tradition. You have to boast about your lack of success while simultaneously complaining about it. It takes many years of practise. Foreigners are expected to do everything in a non-british way, and complained about when they do it.
