I saw a wrapper for that at Crich Tramway Museum the other day. I'd forgotten that each of the 'boys' had the description of their expression underneath. I know one was 'Anticipation' but I can't remember the rest.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Thinking about offering the largest of my books (Crutches For Ducks) as a print book via Amazon's POD thingy. Any thoughts, any experiences anyone wants to share?

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Philip wrote: "Thinking about offering the largest of my books (Crutches For Ducks) as a print book via Amazon's POD thingy. Any thoughts, any experiences anyone wants to share?"

Apparently not, would appear to be the answer. Oh well, here's the latest update. When I first had a cursory look at this option, it looked quite do-able. Now I've actually sat down and done the sums (or 'the math' as our transatlantic cousins insist on saying) I've realised that potential customers would have to take out a mortgage to afford the book, if it was a direct copy of the current e-book, with colour photos and everything. Even reducing it all to black and white wouldn't make it sufficiently cheap, unless I sold it at cost and it would still be expensive even then. Humph!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Doesn't sound viable. This book lark seems to be a very expensive hobby...

At one time, I had the enviable record of every single company I left had either moved away or shut down shortly after I left. I tried not to take it personally.

As long as you do it with panache? Or without complaining? I'm a little less certain what you expect of foreigners.

message 2883: by Gingerlily - The Full Wild (last edited May 09, 2017 03:35PM) (new)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Complaining is another long-established british tradition. You have to boast about your lack of success while simultaneously complaining about it. It takes many years of practise.

Foreigners are expected to do everything in a non-british way, and complained about when they do it.
