Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments My thanks to everyone who downloaded Giving a Bull Stawberries The 'nostalgedy' collection Book 4 by Philip Whiteland in the free giveaway yesterday. I really hope you enjoy it and, if you do, please don't forget to drop in a quick review :-)

message 2803: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Last Tuesday I ran a free promotion for my book 'Giving A Bull Strawberries' and was very pleased with the take-up worldwide. I know this is probably a forlorn hope, but if anyone who has obtained a free copy could consider leaving a review (of any complexion) that would be much appreciated :-) http://getbook.at/BullStrawberries

Giving a Bull Stawberries The 'nostalgedy' collection Book 4 by Philip Whiteland

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I had a KDP report today and got briefly excited (I can only manage briefly these days) until I realised that the blue line on the Sales Dashboard actually only indicated one page read. Who the hell only reads one page of anything??

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments A goldfish?

You clearly have a very erudite goldfish

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its just reads the first sentence over and over again.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Its just reads the first sentence over and over again."

Perhaps it did something very bad in a previous existence, and this is its sentence

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments What is the first sentence in your book? This could be a good or a bad thing....

message 2810: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments "Yet another collection of tales from yesterday and today, designed to bring a smile to your lips (although I can't think of anywhere else you would want a smile) and a warm glow of recollection…wherever you fancy having a warm glow, I suppose."

I guess it's a bad thing.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Tough for a goldfish to digest, anyway...

Tough for anyone to digest, if the KDP No. of Pages read stat is to be believed, which is where I think I came in :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Swimming around in circles?

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Swimming around in circles?"

Or bowling, as I prefer to call it

As soon as the neurons line up. Both of them have been rather overstressed lately.

Thanks Alicia. We'll await a happy alignment ;-)

There is a similarity

message 2819: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I take it all back! Whoever it was that had read one page was clearly building themselves up for the big push, with over 120 pages read since. That's more than there is in the book, which leads me to believe that more than one person might actually be reading it...which is a new and diverting possibility ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments A school of goldfish?

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "A school of goldfish?"

I doubt it, GL, you could never get them to sit at a desk.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments All that flopping around would be distracting.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "All that flopping around would be distracting."

They could be the Fin Street Gang (for those with a long TV memory)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Is that a fishy version of The Bash Street Kids?

message 2825: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Is that a fishy version of The Bash Street Kids?"

I suppose it should be The Bass Street Kids? (It was a spin-off from Please, Sir! with John Alderton - probably before your time)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments It's more that we didn't have a tv, so I missed a lot of programmes like that.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments A spot of pontification - http://philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk/2...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Pietification?

Because I'm not sure what the Pontiff has to do with anniversaries, sewage or all day breakfasts.

What else do you think he does?

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I don't really see him plunging out the pope-closet when it gets blocked. He has minions for that!

message 2832: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Minions! I can see the film now - 'Respectable Me'

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Ohhh! All sorts of ideas....

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I'm a sideways diagonal hour in a slightly northward direction.

I remember it well. I was reminded of it when I went to see the new Pauline and Joan Collins film The Time of Their Lives. He was playing opposite Pauline Collins in Upstairs Downstairs too, as the Chauffeur. This had its own spin-off series, Thomas & Sarah, and they also worked together in another sitcom, No, Honestly,

I'd forgotten about 'No, Honestly'! They were pretty ubiquitous in the 1970s :-) How was the film?

message 2840: by T4bsF (Call me Flo) (new)

T4bsF (Call me Flo) (time4bedsaidflorence) Fun. We both enjoyed it (I went with my Daughter).

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I prefer this kind of Boost.

Haven't had one of those for years!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments I haven't either. I actually prefer Double Deckers.

I used to have a penchant for Aztec bars in the dim and distant.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Actually I've never had an Aztec Bar. Somehow they bypassed my neck of the woods.

Or, of course, Fry's Chocolate Cream
