Philip Whiteland - the man behind Josiah and Archibald (which makes it sound like we're in a queue!)
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "I can't think what for..."That's the joy of euphemisms, you can make it up as you go along :-)
Jan wrote: "Hi PhilipHave you entered your cover in Joel Friedlander's cover comp? Lots of useful comments on other writer's books. I've entered mine and had some useful advice.

Joel didn't think much of my book cover, Jan ;-)
See the April results.
Sorry about that, but you can learn a lot by scrolling through all the comments. I don't always agree with them, but it's useful to read different opinions.
Jan wrote: "Sorry about that, but you can learn a lot by scrolling through all the comments. I don't always agree with them, but it's useful to read different opinions."I didn't expect much, Jan, but still, nothing ventured...
It was a comment from Joel that persuaded me change the cover of But Can You Drink the Water?
.I also intend to update the cover of Mystery At Ocean Drive - but waiting for a break in expenses :)
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "You have a column! Have you got a few rows as well...?"I'm constantly having rows.

Thanks Jan. I'll give it a go.
Philip wrote: "Jan wrote: "Another new place to try out your covers."Thanks Jan and Phillip, I just uploaded my cover there. I drew it myself so have a totally self-centred attitude towards it and need objectivity from others. I think its much harder to be objective if you've designed it yourself.

Right, done it! Now we'll see who else likes the idea of a 30 foot stainless steel shovel ;-) Which one was yours Tui?

One look at my 30 foot shovel and I've managed to close the site down! ;-)
My little fluffy white cloud just hit a new altitude record!http://philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk/2...
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Has it got an angel on it playing a harp?"I sincerely hope not, GL!

Well, it's finally there but not proving hugely popular ;-)
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "They just don't understand it... ;)"The consensus seems to be that it's awful! Oh well, I'm not entirely convinced that anyone buys a kindle book on the strength of the cover, anyway.
I'm giving one of my 'undertakers' stories a bit of an airing on ReadWave at the moment. It's here, if you want to take a look:http://www.readwave.com/bring-out-you...
Celebrating 10 years of continuous publication (in one form or another). I've just found the recording of an interview I did for Radio Derby just after it was released. I'll try and put it on You Tube over the weekend.
I promised to put the Radio Derby interview from 2006 on to You Tube this weekend, and I've just managed to do so. Have a listen:https://youtu.be/QkFYZ8Oi0MA

Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "She'll be Twittering and Faceooking next! Then there'll be no stopping her..."That would be all I'm short of ;-)
This silly series of stories is threatening to become a book, if I'm not careful!http://www.readwave.com/bring-out-you...
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "A book! We can't have that!"Oh yes you can, for the right price!
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Is it a book or a pantomime?"I don't know, I'm not sure if I'm pressing the right Buttons ;-)
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "He's behind you."If you've got your Buttons behind you, you're seriously challenged.
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "Well its more of a strappy jacket that does up behind me...."When she said she was getting a strappy top that's not what we all envisaged
That's right. Actually, its a bit tight, you wouldn't mind loosening a couple of the straps a bit, would you?
Gingerlily - Mistress Lantern wrote: "That's right. Actually, its a bit tight, you wouldn't mind loosening a couple of the straps a bit, would you?"Oh no, I've been caught like that before.
You know that whole messy business of clearing up after your dog? How would you feel about having an audience?http://www.philwhiteland.blogspot.co....
