A strawberry, I suppose. After all, you wouldn't want to grab a bull now, would you?

I just knew it was a mistake mentioning them.
Slug-like???? Who would want a chocolate slug?BTW, the book is now on Goodreads thanks to Julie Haigh :-)
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "You can get chocolate ass-holes."From experience, there's no problem in getting them, chocolate or otherwise! They just crop up whenever you're trying to achieve something :-)
I've been to B&Q today and bought some light fittings - and they say there's no excitement in the world today ;-)
Thats more than I have done. I've been too busy watching videos of Terry Jones talking about medieval stuff.
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Thats more than I have done. I've been too busy watching videos of Terry Jones talking about medieval stuff."I've just finished John Cleese's autobiography and I gather that he and Mr. Jones are not exactly kindred spirits!
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Ah yes, I read that a few weeks ago. There were some 'creative tensions' if I remember correctly :)"I would imagine that such tensions wouldn't be difficult to find with Mr. Cleese, although I did enjoy his autobiography
So, Anyway...
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "He has also had the occasional 'romantic tension' in the course of his life..."Yes, he doesn't really touch on that in the book, other than to admit he's hopeless with women. He doesn't really cover the Python years either.
BTW, I'm running a contest to win a free advance copy of my new book on FB and on my blog. Without mentioning any names, one person from Goodreads has already bagged herself a prize. Would you like to try?www.philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk
I am scratching my head trying to figure out the answer. If I come up with something sensible I'll give it a go.

Ok. After the success of the last competition, here's another chance to win an advance copy of 'Giving a Bull Stawberries The 'nostalgedy' collection Book 4. As before, PM the answer to me by 12.00 GMT on Friday, 13th March. Answer and winner(s) will be announced on Saturday. Here's the question:
A Burton Union is (a) a type of onion, (b) a labour movement or (c) a unique method of fermentation?
BTW, not only is 28.03.15 the date of release of the new book
but it is also the date on which I propose to unpublish (is there such a word?)
. It's had a good run but it is clearly never going to grip the great reading public, so I think it is time it retired. If you had any desire to read it at all, you might want to grab a copy before then :-)
Successfully delivered the first advance copy as a prize. If you want one, just answer the simple question above!
Today is your last chance to win a free advance copy in this competition:http://philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk/2...

Ok, no takers for that one then. The correct answer was (c) a unique method of fermentation.
There'll be another contest along shortly :-)

(a) St. Bodmin
(b) St. Blodwyn
(c) St. Modwen
FREE advance copy of the new book
to the first person to give me the right answer before midnight on Sunday.
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Philip wrote: "We don't pray to her, we just toast her ;-)"Oh very good! LOL"
I have the odd good idea. The rest of the time they're just odd ideas.
And we have a winner for the last competition! The first person to correctly identify that the Patron Saint of Burton upon Trent is (c) St. Modwen was (sound of heartbeat greatly amplified, overlong pause) - Rosemary (The Nosemanny)
Well done, Rosie. Hope you enjoy your advance copy of Giving a Bull Stawberries The 'nostalgedy' collection Book 4 New competition coming shortly.

(b) hogshead
(c) firkin

Oh come on! Somebody must firkin know their barrels from their hogsheads ;-)
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "We're not all boozers like you Burtonians!"Ha! A likely story.
I am currently drinking red lemonade. This odd substance is usually brown. This version is a bright neon scarlet.
I have some green Mickey Finn I could add to it. Well that just seems to have made it a slightly darker red. And made it taste slightly of apple as well as chemicals.
