Philip Whiteland - the man behind Josiah and Archibald (which makes it sound like we're in a queue!)

Yes, it has a tendancy to switch off if you are doing something embarrassing. I know those magic artifacts - they have a vicous streak.

Yes, it ha..."
As you'll know from my stories, I never do anything embarrassing.
If you're interested, there's a bit of a chat about my recent free promotion at www.philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "And if I'm not interested?"You'll join a very large group! But it will still be there, GL ;-)
I've been having a bit of a play with an audio excerpt - see what you think!https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=...

Phew! I was nearly trampled in the rush, there ;-)
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "You've got to find another fan or two Philip. One just isn't enough..."You've noticed that GL have you? ;-)
BTW it's on You Tube now at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CivqL...
This month's Derby Telegraph article, for the benefit of my fan ;-)http://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/wasn-...
My Dad's first new car was a Morris Minor. Midnight Blue though. He got it in 1969 I think, and it served us faithfully for about 8 years before the wheel fell off in transit. He sold the remains, and someone fixed it and used it for several more years.

There was something about the design of the axle that made it liable to rust I think... I was only 12 at the time so some of the details escaped me
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "There was something about the design of the axle that made it liable to rust I think... I was only 12 at the time so some of the details escaped me"I think there was something about the whole of it that made it susceptible to rust - well mine was anyway!
I've put a couple of posts on my blog this afternoon, which you might enjoy.http://philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk/2...

Or not, as the case may be ;-)

Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "That is nice. At last someone appreciates you."Thanks GL. Yes, it was getting lonely in the telephone box in which I hold my fan club meetings :-)
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "I though telephone boxes were for changing into superman costumes."I've always wondered about the logic of that. You can see right into them! You might as well change out on the pavement and have done with it. Or is he a bit nesh and wants to avoid the draught?
Maybe he has a window clouding device or something. Or its just the right shape to anchor his transdimensional vortex...
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "Maybe he has a window clouding device or something. Or its just the right shape to anchor his transdimensional vortex..."Oh yes, that's my excuse too and I'm sticking to it.
Today, I am mostly hosting Mr. Jim Webster on my blog. Come and take a look:www.philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk
Jim wrote: "Just to say thanks for the hosting Philip"No problem, Jim. Hope you see some benefit from it ;-)
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "Fab Phil, eh?"Yep! I'm going to start walking jerkily and only have my lower lip move ;-)
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "Break out the Brylcreem!"Brylcreem? When did Gerry Anderson's puppets subscribe to Brylcreem?
Gingerlily - Smiter of idiots. wrote: "Oh. I got the reference wrong. I thought you were talking about early pop stars."I can see where the confusion arose ;-)
Do you know, I haven't sold anything for days on end now? Yeah, yeah, I know, 'you hum it, I'll sing it' ;-)
Come on over to my dark and mysterious late night thread and sit at the bar brooding with the others...

A bit of an update - Now, I'm sure you're all desperate to know how this promotion worked out? Well, not bad at all is the answer. The book made it to #624 in the overall Kindle Free chart, #1 in Humorous Essays and #6 in Biographies and Memoirs. 108 copies were downloaded on the .com site, 66 copies at .co.uk, 3 at .de and 4 at ,ca. My thanks to everyone who shared and tweeted the promotion and to all of you who have downloaded the title. I hope you read and enjoy the stories and would be very grateful indeed for a review.
I'm certain there are a few people out there who are kicking themselves (rather than the pantry door) because they missed out on this bargain. Well, kick no more because, for the rest of April, you can buy this title for the ridiculously cheap price of just 99p or equivalent. You would be mad not to! ;-)
Gingerlily - Elephant Philosopher wrote: "Thats good Philip. If I had a pantry door I would go and give it a celebratory kick!"I know you would, GL. Thanks!
