Steady Past Your Granny's = 5,600 (yay!)
Crutches for Ducks = 998 (so near...)
Jambalaya = 188
Not so shabby really, eh?

I'm sure you'll be zipping past these totals in no time, David. Unless, as GL says, I've misunderstood and you're angling for a duck or a granny (which encourages some weird images)

I think a duck might be out of the question, might run to a granny though (haven't we all at some point) ;-)

Well, again, haven't we all, at some point

Well, who hasn't heard of a granny flat? (Sorry, sorry)

(smirk) You don't mind if I smirk, do you?

I sympathise!

I only asked because there are so many places that are 'No Smirking' these days

I imagine so. It's a bit like killing germs dead, I think. How much was it though?

You see, you're a natural for 'nostalgedy' - you really need Crutches For Ducks ;-)

This carpet?"
Wow, that's some carpet. I doubt half-a-crown would cover it!

You'll wonder where the yellow went..."
When you brush your teeth with Pepsodent. By now, of course, the users are probably wondering where their teeth went.

I never doubted it for a moment. How about "Now hands that do dishes can..."

The point is just how long these things stick in your memory. We're talking about advertising jingles from over 50 years ago!

You've got to admire the writers who came up with these lyrics and tunes that people can still remember half a century later. I think most of us would kill for that sort of staying power ;-)

Oh,I quite agree. Either that or they make you want to retch. I have to turn the sound off when that advert with Ruth Jones and Robert Lindsay advertising Sky comes on because I have a tendency to shout at the screen. And don't get me started on that ruddy sausage advert where they're all playing instruments and looking sickeningly cheerful...
