Thanks David. It does rather cheer up a miserable Monday, doesn't it?

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm particularly pleased because Steady Past Your Granny's has been hit by some negative reviews, some of which were justified because the original file had obviously become corrupted at some point in the publishing process, causing font irregularities. Now that I've addressed this, and taken the opportunity to update the formatting and add some pictures, I'm hopeful that the overall star rating might improve.

David Haynes | 844 comments I'm sure it will. You can't please everyone but sorting those irritants out gives you more confidence in the book!

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments It's tucked away in a comment to a review, unfortunately, but it's definitely there ;-)

"I liked it very much, lighthearted ,funny ,good story ,just what's needed in this busy, busy life ."

Find out what it's all about for just 99p/99c until Sunday - Jambalaya by Philip Whiteland

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Something for the weekend, sir? Jambalaya by Philip Whiteland

message 1408: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I can still hear you, you know. Above all of those little voices in my head, I can still hear you ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments So what are we all saying then?

Can't say, it's a secret!

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Sold a copy of Jambalaya in Germany! Wonders will never cease :-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Have you tried selling it to the Eskimoes yet?

message 1413: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Have you tried selling it to the Eskimoes yet?"

No, but I've got some arabs interested in a consignment of sand ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments You could throw a copy of the book in free with every dune.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "You could throw a copy of the book in free with every dune."

Ah yes, it will soon be a case of 'dune is busting out all over'

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Its hard to pack a dune neatly, I'll admit.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Its hard to pack a dune neatly, I'll admit."

Frank Herbert might disagree!

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments He didn't pack them, he just wrote about them.

message 1419: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments You wouldn't think you could get a novel out of a pile of sand, would you? Mind you, according to some, Jambalaya stems from something far less wholesome ;-)

message 1420: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Just passing through, don't mind me ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Passing through what?

Don't ask! Oh sorry, you did.

This is the sort of thing that could get me in trouble with the Provisional wing of the Salvation Army ;-)

David Haynes | 844 comments I enjoyed that Philip! Some very funny moments, and some resonating ones too, particularly this :

Then there's Easter Cards. I had never even heard of these until I met my wife.

Haha! Had a good chuckle at that. We spoke about that last night!

You'll find this explains a lot ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments What kind of chair?

message 1430: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "What kind of chair?"

Wooden school chair for the seating of students. You may recall they tended toward the solid in the 1950s/1960s.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments David wrote: "That's a cracker! Well done, Philip"

Thanks David. I'm particularly pleased because, to say this has been languishing would be an understatement ;-)

message 1435: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I've decided that April will be Jambalaya month. To start with, I've reduced the price to 99p/99c for the rest of the month (to celebrate the 5 star review, see above) but there's more to come.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments A further report from the gardening front:

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments is that kind of like the Popular Front. Or more like a warm front...

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "is that kind of like the Popular Front. Or more like a warm front..."

I haven't had a warm front for weeks ;-)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments You need to stand in front of the fire.

message 1440: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I think I must attract them in some way ;-)

I was just regretting not having replaced the dilithium crystals in my time machine.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I know, I know, I should be ashamed of myself!

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm going to do some thumbnail sketches of the various characters in Jambalaya by Philip Whiteland over the next few weeks, accompanied by Emma's excellent drawings, such as this one of Judge Garden http://pinterest.com/pin/255157135110...

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Does that mean you will draw them on your thumbnail?

message 1449: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Does that mean you will draw them on your thumbnail?"

Yes, I accept that it's going to restrict the audience somewhat but it is convenient and handy (sorry)

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Just stay away from DIY while this is running.
