Philip Whiteland - the man behind Josiah and Archibald (which makes it sound like we're in a queue!)

Morning, Patti.
Just planning another 'nostalgedy' book. Probably going to be the same sort of size as Steady Past Your Granny's(which seemed to work pretty well) and probably due for release in January, 2013. Provisional title = A Kick At The Pantry Door
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Ooooh Goody gooody!"Just you and me then, GL? Clearly something of a niche market ;-)
Patti (Migrating Coconut) wrote: "Well one more anyway."I'm counting each and every one.
I've just been to a brewery tour that was cancelled at the last minute. So now I've actually been somewhere where they actually couldn't organise a...
Just been sorting out the contents for A Kick at the Pantry Door. There's more stuff to go in there than I originally thought. Looks like it will be a little bigger than Steady Past Your Granny's but not as big as Crutches For Ducks. Still, size isn't everything, as they tell me ;-)
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "I'll be happy whatever the size Phil."I couldn't possibly comment, GL.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "The book, Phil, the book!!"Of course, what else could we possibly be talking about? Due for release late December, 2012. Probably just before Christmas.
For those who haven't seen this on FB:I went to the Garden Centre again today. At the checkout, it said you could get a Senior Citizen discount, so I enquired about it. I got £10 off an old bloke with a squint and a walking stick!
A dip into the problem page:Dear Deirdre,
I was driving past my local garage today when I saw a sign that said 'Winter Check - Book Now', so I went in and enquired. The chap behind the counter was very helpful and said he could fit me in straight away. I was very pleased. He then went out of the back door, was gone for a couple of minutes, and when he returned he said "Yep, it's Winter alright" and charged me £35. My question is, do you think I should have tipped him?
Doubtful of Derbyshire.
Got a brand new 5 star review for Crutches For Ducks that I hadn't even noticed!http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/cdp/member...

I know, Patti. Still, it was a nice surprise :-)
Two bits of news. Firstly, if you want to give a Granny as a gift to someone this Christmas, but they don't have an e-reader? Nae problemo! Amazon now have a stock of the print version.
Secondly, I've further updated
's product description, so there should be no doubt about the type of content. Have a look and let me know what you think.
I'm tempted to say that my Granny in print is a nice little stocking filler, but I won't as it sounds somewhat perverse ;-)
Depends on the stocking I suppose... Fishnets not so good. Nice thick pair of knitted aran types ones much better.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Well if she looks like Tina Turner maybe..."No, not even then. It's just not right.
Ignite wrote: "People pay folding currency for pictures like that!"I didnt know you could fold 10p coins.

Ooh, that's harsh!
I'm toying with the idea of pulling Jambalaya from publication. It's now received two 2 star ratings on here and nothing further on Amazon itself. Given the lack of any contrary positive comments, I guess it's probably time to admit defeat.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "I'm still here, but hanging on by the skin of my toenails..."But I'm sure you have cute cuticles ;-)
Sorry, sorry, it's this word-play thing...I just can't resist it! Which gets me back to the problems with Jambalaya. Anyway, you wouldn't have cute cuticles for long if you were using them to hang on to anything, I wouldn't have thought.
Just posted a couple of excerpts from
on www.philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk, if you've nothing better to do on this Sunday afternoon.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "So that was the creaking noise I heard!"I'm delighted to hear it has reduced to a creaking noise. I used to frighten people miles away. Actually, I think it's more of a creek that I'm up, not a creak

I ordered a trampoline for my grandson, but I don't think much of it. I've just got this queue of vagrants at my door."
Apparently, this was the 1200th post on this thread! And equally as popular at the other 1199, I guess ;-)
