Thanks to all for the very much appreciated votes. I'll let you know the results tomorrow.

Looks like I got my vote in just in time, by the skin of my teeth, etc...

17 mins left and thanks to all concerned. It would be a bit odd to have skin on your teeth, you could finish up with pimples on your premolars!
Right, the poll's closed and the results are 77% said they would buy Jambalaya and 22% would possibly buy it. 1% said they could still eat ice cubes and clearly misunderstood the question.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "So does that mean it woill actually be published? And do we get free ice cubes with it?"
Yes,GL, due to this clamour of demand from the public (you'll note I haven't said how many people voted), it will be published on 30th August. Free ice cubes will be provided with each download but we cannot guarantee that these will not have melted by the time the download is complete ;-)
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "This book must be hot stuff then!"Not half! It makes "Fifty Shades of Grey" look like a description of my wardrobe.
If, in common with most research for beauty products, we extrapolate this embarrassingly small sample across the UK population as a whole, this means that 53m people will buy the book and 15.5m will think seriously about it. World domination is clearly only a hop, skip and jump away. MWAHAHAHA!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "how many people will eat ice cubes then,"Dunno, but I'll bet J.K. Rowling will be gnashing a few ;-)
I don't know if you're into gory hospital dramas or moans about the NHS, but if so you may enjoy this saga, taken from
and recounted (appropriately enough) on the Sagazone Blog page - http://www.sagazone.co.uk/blogs/detai...
Latest Derby Telegraph article can be found here - http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/Phi...
Just don't look at the photo!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "How much hair cream were you wearing?"To the best of my knowledge and belief, none! Mind you, my Mum had a thing about a sort of setting lotion known as Toddylocks - don't ask.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Is it back to the Virol thread..."We're back in that country, yes. Not that my Mum smeared my head with Virol, I hasten to add.
By the way, and particularly for Emma's information, you'll note that I've changed my Facebook profile picture ;-)
According to Facebook "Once 30 people like your Page, you'll get access to insights about your activity." As it would be difficult to get more inactive than I am, I thought this might be interesting. Therefore, if you could bring yourself to 'Like' the page below (which, let's face it, costs nothing and means nothing) then I promise to do nothing more than thank you. I'll let you know about my activity here too, if anyone can ever find it ;-)https://www.facebook.com/pages/Philip...
By the same token, I only have to rate one more book on here (Goodreads) to get 'personalised recommendations' - I can't wait! But then I have a very boring existence ;-)

Patti (Stir Crazy) wrote: "I've been liking you and your page for months, Phil. :)"I know, Patti. Thanks.
Apparently I need another 8 'Likes' to unlock the secrets of Facebook, or something like that, I'm not really sure ;-)
I love a mystery!Tell us what magical thing occurs when it happens okay?
Maybe you'll end up with a pixie infestation or something...

That would be about par for the course. Pixies in my pixels.
Still need just 3 more 'Likes' to be granted super powers by Facebook (or something like that, I'm not very clear on the details). If you've nothing better to do, could you pop over to https://www.facebook.com/pages/Philip... and do the business?Ta.
I was thinking about what super powers might be conferred. Perhaps the power to annoy (although I've already got that)? How about the ability to be invisible, but only when you don't want to be, like at Last Orders in the pub, or when you're trying to attract the attention of a waiter, or now for example?
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Aren't superpowers supposed to help you or make life easier?"You'd better ask Spiderman what he thinks about that!
I would like the ability to impose silence. That would really make things so much less irritating in all sorts of circumstances.
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Well would you be willing to travel everywhere I go and work your power for me."If the money's right!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Do you take Euros?"Not for much longer, the way things are going ;-)
Patti (Free Bird) wrote: "How are the likes coming along?"3 short of world domination, apparently ;-)
