Philip (sarah) wrote: "Great news Philip."Thanks Philip (sarah) - I know it is an enormous cheek, but if you felt able to post your very kind remarks about Crutches for Ducks as a review on Amazon I would be really very grateful. At present, it does not have any UK reviews and I suspect this may be putting people off. Don't worry if you're not comfortable with doing this.
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Will do it later today Philip."Thanks very much indeed. I hate to take advantage of your kindness but it was such a positive response to the book, that it seemed a shame not to share it!
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Posted my review Philip."Have just seen it! What a generous review!!
Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to do this. I do hope you didn't mind my suggesting it? I'm very grateful indeed :-)
Not at all Philip,I really should get into the habit of reviewing everything I read.I think I made a New Year Resolution to that effect,I guess It went the same way as the rest of them.HeHe.BTW I also suffer with sleep apnoea but chose the CPAP option, despite the mask being cumbersome I now sleep better and feel so rested on waking,so if you find you are sleeping during the day it may be worthy of reconsideration.
I will watch out for your next book later in the year!

Sorry to hear about the sleep apnoea but glad that the CPAP machine is working for you. Up to now, the op seems to have done the trick, although it was a fairly grotty experience at the time.
A tale of unrequited love for Valentines Day (also a free excerpt from Crutches For Ducks)http://philwhiteland.blogspot.com/201...
Patti (Mango Mad) wrote: "Have I ever mentioned how much I enjoy your blog? :)But what happens next????"
There's a link at the end of the post to the follow-up article "Cuddly Dudley" and, of course, you can find both in the new book Crutches For Ducks ;-)
Patti (Mango Mad) wrote: "Oh Crutches for Ducks is it?http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0......"
Thanks Patti. It's a bit of a well kept secret at the moment ;-)
As an addendum to the above, I'm just about to do a one day Valentines Day Price Massacre for this book so that from midday today until the same time tomorrow, it will be just 99p.
Apologies for the above announcement. I rather expected that the price would be amended more quickly than it has been (its still not happened). However, to compensate, whenever it does happen I'm extending the sale period to midnight on Friday, 17th February to celebrate our 22nd Wedding Anniversary on that date. Thought it would be a romantic thing to do on Valentines Day ;-)
Congratulations and have a lovely anniversary day on Friday!!

Just had a very pleasant weekend in Conwy. This was a Christmas present from our daughter and son-in-law that was meant to coincide with our Wedding Anniversary, but work got in the way.I've taken the usual snaps but I bet they turn out to be as disappointing as normal. For the explanation, see http://philwhiteland.blogspot.com/201...
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "There's and eerie feel about this thread today, all these little chilly breezes..."Don't talk to me about chilly breezes. I made the mistake of reading a 'Ghosts of Conwy' book while I was there. It featured the row of cottages we were in!
Ha I love it, you are funny.Phil I shal be getting Steady past your granny now. Is there more in the pipeline?
Pat (Scorpio) wrote: "Ha I love it, you are funny.Phil I shal be getting Steady past your granny now. Is there more in the pipeline?"
Hope you enjoy my Granny, she's been about for quite a while now but seems to go from strength to strength! I'm planning a Christmas Collection if time allows.

Pat, I had no idea that you had left such a really generous and kind review of Crutches for Ducks on Amazon! Thank you so much.
If my granny ever gets to 10,000 sales, I promise to hold a party on here. In view of previous problems, I'll obviously take up the carpets and take down the curtains. I'll even do the disco! We're quite a way off that yet, so I wouldn't get too excited if I were you ;-)
Now would be a good time to start gluing bits of mirror onto a disco ball then!I don't understand why you're fussing about the carpets and curtains though....

How very Blue-Peterish. We should get some sticky-backed plastic.
We'll have to try and recruit an adult to join the group then.I'm gonna run with scissors! So there!
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "In over 1100 of us, surely there's at least one adult...."Don't all rush at once!
I'll even include some of the tracks from the Occasional Lyrics thread - that will serve you right ;-)
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "In over 1100 of us, surely there's at least one adult...."Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. You don't see many adults round here do you?
Ignite wrote: "Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "In over 1100 of us, surely there's at least one adult...."Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. You don't see many adults round here do you?"
You might think that, Ignite, I couldn't possibly comment. I like to think that my books are a testament to the avoidance of growing up ;-)
I just realised that I missed my granny's anniversary! The old girl's been on Kindle for 12 months as of yesterday. Thanks very much to the nearly 3,500 people who've given a granny a home in the last year.
Philip (sarah) wrote: "Your 'granny' is doing well in my care Philip,I gave her a wee sherry to celebrate!"Thanks! Don't give her too much, there's nothing worse than a tipsy granny ;-)
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "Even a tipsy mother can cause havoc"So I'm told, GL. As a lifelong teetotaller of course, I wouldn't know ;-)
My mother has a tendancy to giggle, and build monuments to motherhood with the salt cellar and napkin rings....
Gingerlily (or Cyberlily..) wrote: "My mother has a tendancy to giggle, and build monuments to motherhood with the salt cellar and napkin rings...."I quite approve of giggling mothers. My mum used to abandon herself to laughter if anything struck her as really amusing. I miss that.
