You've just sold it to me Phillip! I've just earned an amazon voucher from one of my survey sites and am planning how to spend it! :0)

I'm cheap, what more can I say ;-)

I bought your Granny as well - fancy selling her for 99p!

:0)

You've heard the old expression "He'd sell his own mother for sixpence"?

message 505: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Joking apart, thanks very much Karen. Very much appreciated.

I'm not necessarily looking at you but I'm in desperate need of a review for my Duck on the Amazon.co.uk site. Doesn't have to be gushing, doesn't even have to be supportive, but something would at least show someone in the UK had read it ;-)

Jud (judibud) | 16799 comments Sell your mother for sixpence and your granny for less than a pound...

I think that could catch on. Although I'm happy to pass my granny on to any takers for free. Just so long as they are in a far and distant country, preferably with no communication system in place yet

Tsk, tsk. What's that other old saying? "You'll never miss your Granny till she's lying in her grave"

There, that's cheered everyone up!

message 508: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Thanks to spiffing people like Kew above, both Crutches For Ducks and Steady Past Your Granny's are currently in the top 10,000 Kindle books. It won't last but it's quite nifty while it does!

message 509: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments You see, I knew I shouldn't have posted that because the Duck instantly dropped out of the frame. I'm a fool to myself sometimes ;-)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I drag this story from Steady Past Your Granny's out pretty much every Christmas! Hope you enjoy it. The good news (or bad, dependent on your point of view) is that I'm working on a sequel to it that I may be able to share before the week's out:

Hi Patti. Happy New Year to you! Thanks for missing me, although most would say you should take more careful aim ;-)

I've been very busy with real-life work and a series of colds and bugs that have laid me low. 4 star ratings tend to perk me up though!

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Aww poor Phil. I'm sorry you've been ill. :(

You need to spend some time with us to build up your happy defences.

message 521: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Just to let you know that, last time I checked, I was still here...and so was my Granny and Duck. Thought you might like to know ;-)

message 522: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm considering relaunching Crutches For Ducks by Philip Whiteland in the Spring with a different cover. Would welcome your opinions.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Show us the new cover and I'm sure you'll get plenty of comments.

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Gingerlily (aka The Typo Queeen) wrote: "Show us the new cover and I'm sure you'll get plenty of comments."

Haven't done it yet, GL. My thinking is that it would be very much on the lines of the cover for Steady Past Your Granny's by Philip Whiteland

message 525: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments I'm sneaking closer to a significant milestone. Can't tell you any more as I would have to terminate you if I did ;-)

What? Terminating you or not telling you?

message 528: by Patti (baconater) (new)

Patti (baconater) (goldengreene) | 56525 comments Well both, now that I think on it.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Philip, you're just a tease.

You should see what I can do with my feather boa!

Nothing else, sounds like a particularly unhelpful lady.

message 533: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Thinking about it, we could tour as an exotic double act!

Phil Whiteland and Nothing Else,
A smile, a song, and a vague sense of disappointment

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments Do you think that would go down well?

message 535: by Philip (new)

Philip Whiteland | 3394 comments Sure fire hit, GL. X Factor, here we come!

He's a darn sight too professional for me, GL! Looks good. Should think he would do well on the cruise circuit.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 34228 comments He'll be doing cruises and holiday camps for the next while.

Philip (sarah) Willis | 4630 comments Just popped by to thank you for the entertainment Crutches for ducks provided during a gruelling 7hr drive in the snow.I read parts of it aloud to my OH as he drove and we wallowed in the nostalgia and humour, needless to say it also sparked many of our own memories (we are both baby boomers)and the time just flew by. My Phil has never read anything other than 'techie'books his entire life and he was so taken with yours he tried to steal my Kindle for a peek himself!Have you any others in the pipeline?

Thanks so much. You've cheered me up immensely! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I'm planning a Christmas Collection for later in the year (obviously), which will feature some previously published stories but some new ones too.
