Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) Difficult choice to make.

message 52: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments It was a difficult choice!

message 53: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Hmm, the votes are kinda all over the place, but the book I want to read is tied with another book I've read before. Come on people, let's read something new, lol. I will pay someone to vote for the book I want to read.

message 54: by Nora aka Diva (new)

Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) Aww, if only you had posted this earlier, I am always open to bribes. ;) lol
I am hoping a certain book won't win, course I just won't read it if it does. lol.

message 55: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments Well if I had known there would be a bribe.....Listen I need to know this info up front! Hell I would settle for chocolate!

message 56: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Votes can be changed, you know.

Jenn, I'm eating some Reese's minis right now. I'll save you some and mail them to you. :-D

message 57: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Now, Nora, you certainly don't look like the kind who takes bribes.

message 58: by Nora aka Diva (new)

Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) Tressa wrote: "Now, Nora, you certainly don't look like the kind who takes bribes."

I come from a long line of government workers so of course I take bribes. lol ;)

message 59: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments I ate a bag of those this week....YUM! I am now working my way through Hershey Hugs.

message 60: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments God, Jenn. Better watch it. Once on the lips...

Lori | 1318 comments Scott wrote: "A Terrible Beauty?

Am I the only one who hasn't read American Psycho?"

Well, Scott, I only recently read it. =]

message 62: by Lori (new)

Lori | 1318 comments I just hope that whatever we end up picking, I'll be able to make the time to read it. I really enjoyed being able to talk about the one book I was able to read with you guys

message 63: by Lee (new)

Lee | 2502 comments I've read two in Rex Miller's "Chaingang" series....very good. (and they are hard to find)

"Perfume" is one of my favorite's.

Scott....there's two of us who haven't read American Psycho

message 64: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments I've never read American Psycho, saw the movie, though.
Was there a bribe being mentioned?

message 65: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Yes, Bandit. I'm offering a bribe to anyone who votes for my book. Screw democracy.

message 66: by Nora aka Diva (new)

Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) Scott wrote: "Am I the only one who hasn't read American Psycho?"

I haven't read it either.
I do find the movie silly & boring.

message 67: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments what's the bribe?

message 68: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments What's your price?

message 69: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments oh, no, don't make me negotiate
what are my options?
don't say cookies, we know how that goes lol

message 70: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Just vote for my book out of the kindness of your heart. Can you do that for me?

message 71: by Bandit (last edited Jul 21, 2011 07:38AM) (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments you mean my rotten black zombie heart, don't you?

note to self...all offers of bribes are fake, avoid, avoid

message 72: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Yeah, there's some humanity left in the rotting organ, isn't there?

message 73: by Scott (last edited Jul 21, 2011 07:46AM) (new)

Scott Nora wrote: "American Psycho?"

I liked the movie. But from what I understand it is very different from the novel.

message 74: by Tressa (last edited Jul 21, 2011 07:49AM) (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments It's been awhile since I read it or saw the movie, but I don't remember it being too different.

message 75: by Nora aka Diva (new)

Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) I think they shoulda picked someone else for the main character, I just didn't buy him(forgot his name. lol) in the role. He didn't seem believable, to me at least.

message 76: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments Tressa wrote: "Yeah, there's some humanity left in the rotting organ, isn't there?"

grrrr...I don't know, I'll check and vote accordingly :)

message 77: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments You forgot Christian Bale's name? *gasp!* He is divine. I thought he was the ultimate yuppie; perfect for the role.

Of course, Bandit. Everyone should vote the way they want.

message 78: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments I also thought Christian Bale was perfect in American Psycho, I really like him as an actor.

message 79: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I've loved Bale since seeing him in Spielberg's Empire of the Sun.

message 80: by Chris (new)

Chris (necaros) | 18 comments Christian Bale is such a commited actor, the change from The Machinist to Batman is impressive! Overal talented.

Vote for Slob!

message 81: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I liked The Machinist. Liked Batman, too, except for his raspy voice.

Vote for The Hypnotist!

message 82: by Courtney (new)

Courtney | 23 comments Ooh, I did vote for the Hypnotist! Do I get a cookie?

message 83: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Will bypass the USPS and Fed Ex some to you right away, Courtney.

message 84: by Wrath (new)

Wrath (wrathjameswhite) | 20 comments I don't remember who mentioned Rex Miller, but if you read him, I'm in. I don't think I can do American Psycho again. Great book, but it's a bit difficult to get into at first. All the brand names get tedious and reeeeeaaaaallly sloooooooow the book down.

message 85: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments I just realized that I don't in fact own Terrible Beauty by Masterton nor have I ever read it, I think I kept confusing it with Trauma. Grrr....braaaains, now I have to go buy Terrible Beauty.

message 86: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments They all sounded pretty good. I will have to check my UBS for them all now.

message 87: by Nora aka Diva (new)

Nora aka Diva (DuctTapeDiva) Bandit wrote: "I also thought Christian Bale was perfect in American Psycho, I really like him as an actor."

i just don't like him, not even sure why exactly.

message 88: by Gatorman (last edited Jul 22, 2011 07:40AM) (new)

Gatorman | 8320 comments Loved his rant while on the set of T4. Classic stuff ("Good for you!!!")

message 89: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I know. The media tried to make a big deal out of it, but haven't we all ranted like a lunatic at some point in our lives? And the feud with his crazy mother and sister. That's good stuff, too.

message 90: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments I probably rant like a lunatic every day.

message 91: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I do while driving, Jenn.

message 92: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments I almost never ever rant...is it therapeutic?

message 93: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman | 8320 comments Very much so.

message 94: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Bandit, it is indeed. But it can chip away at relationships and friendships over the long haul. Best to keep it inside on a low, seething flame and one fine day take an elevator to an observation deck and start picking out cars.

message 95: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments haha, sarcasm, I got it lol

message 96: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments Exactly..... I have serious issues with people's drivin skills. The place where I have trouble controlling my lunatic self is at work. It's easier now that I'm not in the office with those women any more.

message 97: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Woohoo! Bandit got my sarcasm. But surely she didn't think I would propose anyone turning into a sniper.

message 98: by Bandit (new)

Bandit (lecturatoro) | 8821 comments no, no, I didn't read that email as instructions...also, I can't take elevators and lugging a weapon up all those stairs would just suck

message 99: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I'd have to get some strapping guy to lug my machine gun up for me.

You can't take elevators? The horror!

message 100: by jb (new)

jb Byrkit (jbbyrkit) | 2035 comments I hate elevators and escalators. I got pushed down a long escalator as a kid....bunch of drunk guys at a baseball game. It was awful...I got hurt.

AR15 is not too heavy....could probably lug that up with a box of ammo!
