This folder is designed for the group's authors to spotlight themselves and their work. If you are a published author (indie or traditional) post your info as a new topic in this folder, not as a comment in this thread (comments get lost in threads, folder topics pop to the top when updated). And please post something about you, not just your books.
One topic per author please, but otherwise the content is up to you.

Don't fret, you are not the first, and I suspect you will not be the last. A few errant posts shall not bring down the universe (at least I hope not).

Blog Talk Radio is great for author interviews and readings. I did a show there a long while back when Chronicles first came out. I may know of some people if you're interested in doing other shows.

I can think of two shows off the top of my head.

Red River Radio has a nice variety of programs and hosts. You can check out the show here: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/rrradio
And the Robin Falls website where you can find more info: http://www.robinfalls.com/
They're on Facebook too.

And author Kim Smith has a show, Introducing Writers
She's also a member of the Murder by 4 blog (a great blog by the way).

Melanie, I'd prefer if you'd post this as a topic (click the tiny "new topic" link at the top of the Author Profiles folder) and not as a comment on this thread. That way it stays as a separate post.

You should see a teeny, tiny delete button in the lower hand coner of your comment, right after the reply button.
If you can't find it I'll delete it.

Donna, I think your comment may have deleted. I see my reply, but not your oringinal comment post.

Rose, the Author Profiles Folder is just for our authors, but we have another folder the Reading Nook, where any member, published or not, can post their writing: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_...

Alice Dinizo (JBDiNizo) | 10 comments I am a retired librarian and writing as a retirement career was the last thing on my mind. However, I do see myself as a storyteller and I love writing stories about my adopted state, New Jersey. There are so many things about New Jersey that are wonderful: it's history, the architecture of its old homes, the varied landscape including the Pine Barrens, and the people who live here. Not all of us have "attitude".

You should post your bio and books as a new topic in this folder, Alice. You may get more views than being lost in a sea of comments on this thread.

Marcie Hill (marciereads) | 4 comments Hi Alice

I can't wait to read about your tales about NJ. I have developed an interest in Chicago history, and it's quite fascinating.

I do have a request. If you run across any information about roller skating or roller derby (not rollerblading or ice skating) during your research, please direct me to those resources. I am writing a book on Chicago roller skating history, and will be going into other states after I finish here.

Thank you.

To post a new topic, just click on the folder title, in this case, Author Profiles, and then on the right-hand side at the top you should see in tiny letters a link that says "new topic". Click that, give your topic a title and post your bio and books in the comment box.

Clarissa Wild (clarissawild) Hi!

I'm a writer of hot, steamy Erotic Romance novellas. I've published 2 books (more coming) in a Series called Enflamed.

Raveled By You (#1, Enflamed) is an Erotic Romance that's FREE to download: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view...

Description: When regular middle class girl Chloe Young meets the mysterious, sexy and Japanese kaito Nagao during a coffee break, her life is turned upside down. Even though Chloe has a boyfriend, they engage in a hot and titillating affair, one that will lead her to question her life as it used to be.

Please let me know what you think! Any reviews are welcome :)

Bonnie Ferrante (bonnieferrante) | 23 comments I write fiction for adults and children. I love living in Northern Ontario, Canada even though I spend most of the long winter indoor writing (like right now). I chant, bike, garden, read, stitch, volunteer, study the Dharma, paint (not much anymore, use a drawing tablet instead), write, attend live theatre, and enjoy playing Scopa, trivia games, and Scrabble with my husband. I was a grade school teacher but now write full time.

Read what other writers have said of my work -
Gordon Korman: "Hauntingly believeable"
Anne Coleman: "clear, effectively told"
Fred Stenson: "This author has exciting gifts...what a talent."
Richard Scrimger: "genuine surprises"
Angie Abdou: "insightful and emotional"

If you post this as a topic within this folder, instead of as a comment in this thread, you can update it more effectively and it will be easier for people to find.

message 28: by Liz (new)

Liz Bell | 1 comments Hi everyone! I am grateful for discovering Goodreads! Such great exposure. I am a 32 year old chick living in Manhattan and I’ve written two books, NOTHING like one another. One is a YA dystopian novel about a girl who is born into the Illuminati, but is unable to be programmed or brainwashed. She therefore is an outcast among the “Others” (everyone else other than the Illuminati) and her own cult. She grows to see how evil a conspiracy she was born into and quests on a search for her mother who ran away when she was little, and answers. Only 99 cents, give it a shot!

http://www.amazon.com/Luminous-Altern...

My other novel is an adult fiction work, based on my real life high school bullying experiences (hence the similarities in the name). Listina is an angry bitter alcoholic who is barely functioning and stumbles upon diaries that she knows she is afraid to read. She does, after hitting rock bottom, she knows her spiral downward is going to kill her. She relives every humiliating memory one by one, being bullied by her own friends as well as other girls. Here are links to my social media below. Enjoy!

You may wish to post this as a new topic within the folder (as I suggested). If you do this you can update it better and it should get more views. Comments can often get lost in the shuffle as the thread gets larger.

message 30: by Marianne (new)

Marianne Perry | 37 comments Hello from Canada. My writing stems from an interest in family, genealogy and travel. I've published non-fiction genealogical research articles in Family Chronicle: The How-To Genealogical Magazine and The Ontario Genealogical Society's Quarterly Publication, Families. I also blog about genealogy, writing and travel on my website http://www.marianneperry.ca. In addition, I've published The Inheritance, an historical fiction set in Calabria, southern Italy during the early 1900s that grew out of my research to solve family mysteries about my paternal grandmother. My travels have taken me to all the continents on our beautiful world and have included genealogical research trips to Calabria, the home of my paternal ancestors. I live in Northern Ontario on Lake Superior and am excited to meet authors and learn more about the writing craft from Goodreads.
Thank you and I wish you health and blessings. Marianne Perry.

No problem, that's why I'm here. You go here to the Author Profiles Folder (or any folder): https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... and on the right hand side by the title you should see a teeny, tiny link called "new topic". Click it and you'll go to a new page. Just give your profile a title (in the topic box) and write or copy and paste your post in the comment box.
