Katy (katyas-69) | 603 comments Hmm. Mysti's story reminds me of one my mom told me from when I was a kid. You must keep in mind that I had what my mom described as a "loud, booming voice" as a child ... and I was raised in Montana. What's the significance of that, you might ask? Well, in Montana the only people of color you generally see are Native Americans. When I was about 4, I believe, we went to Medora, ND to watch the famous Medora Musical - I'm sure you've heard of it ... Well, anyway, we were there early and since it is a tourist town, we were doing the tourist thing and looking around. I was with my dad, and saw - for the first time in my life - an African American man across the street. Grabbing Dad's hand I said (apparently in much excitement) "Daddy, Daddy, look!! A monkey!"

My dad was, apparently, a bit embarrassed by this, or so I've heard. Like I mentioned in my first post in this thread - I don't GET embarrassed, and I would especially have not been embarrassed at that age ... what did I know, right?

I promised my youngest daughter that once she was able to go on the potty with no accidents for 3 days that she could go pick out any underwear she wanted. Well, after she got to pick, she stopped anyone who would listen to her, show them her panties, told them she was a big girl, and that she would never pee in her pretty new panties. Toddlers are NEVER quiet about anything they are excited about either. She had quite a crowd at one point. It was hilarious.
