Erin There is nothing like Twilight. I made a vendiagram and the only thing that I found in common was they were biology partners. Nothing, and I liked Twilight, But I loved these books, and I havent even got to Silence of the series

You should read it~

Pullami OMG. I was thinking Exactly the same thing whilst reading. I thought i was the only one. lol

Nurlely I think there are always some parts in one novel that have similarities with other novels. It is probably a coincidence or the writer just happened to love the books and was inspired by them and wrote a bit (or too much) from them.

But Hush Hush series is way better than Twilight. The fantasy in Twilight is so messy I regret reading the series.

karlipagemaster In no way, shape, or form did I think of Twilight when I read Hush Hush.

I am with you, not once did Twilight enter my mind.

message 108: by Rachel (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rachel its similar but there is alot of key points that make them very very different. hush, hush is darker than twilight i think. and hush, hush is better :) sorry i read both and hush, hush was better :)

Arushi Eevee wrote: "In no way, shape, or form did I think of Twilight when I read Hush Hush."

same then my friend pointed out similarities, but honestly hush hush is soooooo amazing and i hated twilight so i cant even really compare the two.

Nurlely Eevee wrote: "In no way, shape, or form did I think of Twilight when I read Hush Hush."

One example, Patch and Nora met in a classroom, as Edward and Nora did, and what the boys were feeling against the girls.

message 111: by Dianne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Dianne It never occurred to me that they have similar plot.Maybe, it just so happens that they're both fantasy/love story..and i don't deny both books didn't amaze me but at least hush hush got better because of the sequels whereas twilight saga got worse and bored me.

karlipagemaster Yeah, maybe they both met in a classroom, but the stories seem so different to me. The characters too. I hate how every teen book that came after Twilight has to be compared to it.

Diane I thought there were a lot of similarities and it bugged me. I read Twilight first, so when I was reading Hush, hush the similarities just jumped out of the page.
That said, Hush, hush still managed to be different enough for me to enjoy.

Nurlely Eevee wrote: "Yeah, maybe they both met in a classroom, but the stories seem so different to me. The characters too. I hate how every teen book that came after Twilight has to be compared to it."

The boys have the intention to kill the girls.
Just like Diane *Ahnnihilate*, I also read Twilight first, so it also annoyed me, just a bit, because everything in Hush Hush series is way better than Twilight....:)

Yes, Hush Hush was waaaaaaaay better than Twilight. The characters just felt way more relatable. It was funny too, unlike Twilight. Twilight was just way too serious and uptight for me.

message 117: by S.L.J. (new) - rated it 2 stars

S.L.J. Why do these stories always revolve around a creepy supernatural dude?

message 118: by [deleted user] (new)

not really

message 119: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin Most authors in todays time, try to push small towns and stuff like Twilight, because it became so popular. Look at almost every other YA book, small town, boy meets girl, vice versa, mostly at school then they find something paranormal about the other. There are few qualities Twilight and Hush, Hush share.
1. There biology partners
2. Nora only has one parent.
Hush, Hush was way better than Twilight. All YA books seem to have a simialar plot but with different stories, but it doesnt bother me.

karlipagemaster Well, someone needs to write a YA novel that has none of these things. They should meet at a grocery store or the airport or something. The leading character has both or their parents and no drama with them. And to finish it off, it will take place in a big city. How does that sound?

message 121: by Kelli (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kelli West i think they are similar in ways and different in ways. but when you think about it, Edward is all "i wanted to kill you," and Patch was all "i wanted to kill you." haha

karlipagemaster The best difference between Twilight and Hush, Hush is that Patch is hot! :)

S.L.J. How exactly does an eons old angel fall in love with a girl whos brain cells can be counted wiv your toes?? very simple question that needs a simple answer.

Why are they in love?

message 125: by J.B. (new) - rated it 5 stars

J.B. Sullivan If you guys are getting sick of the now cliched school setting like Twilight & Hush Hush, try out Julieanne Lynch's In The Shadows. Its been branded "the most noble, daring and edgy YA of 2011." I LOVED it, but be warned, its not for the faint hearted or for those that go into a book with expectations.

ScarletCarsonMarie Bulma wrote: "I thought Hush Hush was like Twilight but boy was I wrong!!! Cuz Patch is soooooooooooo not an Edward~"

I know it's nothing like twilight (I thought it was going to be at first, but after reading it I know it's nothing like twilight) It pisses me off when people compare it to twilight, why does Stephanie Meyers get credit for every supernatural romance out there agh it makes me so mad.

Margaret Ushman I think it does have some similarities to Twilight, except This book was well written and good. Twilight sucked (no pun intended). Their are a few small ones.

message 128: by Gaby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gaby Lovera hush hush is unique

Totally agree one hundred percent!!!

message 130: by Sydney (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sydney Not even close. This book is so much better, a little more sensual if you ask me, Patch is more "Tentative", Nora can actually live without him, Nora goes to him, he doesn't come to her.
BIG differences.
Do you see?

message 131: by Bulma (new) - rated it 5 stars

Bulma Books I still don't see why pple compare them together.

message 132: by Alaina (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alaina i totally agree that its similar but it also has its own twists and turns that make it unique!

message 133: by Ysa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ysa loveday patch and endward are too differnt scott is not in love with nora like jacob is with bella and nora is better then bella because she has mre guts... all im saying

Tshepang **SPOILERS**--DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU'VE READ ALL FOUR BOOKS OF HUSH,HUSH AS WELL AS TWILIGHT!!!

If you summarised Hush,Hush and Twilight to their simplest form:"Boy meets girl and later fall in love" than yes they are similar but if you read it closely they are very different:
1.)Patch is bad boy HOT while Edward is just good looking.

2.)Patch is not one of the good guys *atleast in the beginning.

3.)Nora's dad is dead , Bella's still very much alive.

4.)In the beginning Nora is attracted to Patch but tries to ignore those feelings *but fails miserably.

5.)Where's Bella's Vee Sky- Bella doesn't have a Girl BFF. And Nora has Scott so that crosses out Jacob.

6.)Jacob does not die in the end like Scott!!!

7.)There aren't any supernatural scientifically unexplainable conceptions in Hush,Hush.

8.)Hush,Hush has humar unlike Twilight!!!

9.)Patch does not have a special gift or talent that other angels don't have!!!

10.)Patch has no family and only one friend who decides to backstab him...

11.)There aren't any Marcie Millers in Twilight.

SIMILARITIES

1.)Both male characters are immortals.

2.)Both girls very dependent on their boyfriends-so much for girl power?

Clarissa I agree with messages 1 and 4. But let's not \forget Meyer's flaw (to me) was Bella's character. Nora can kick butt both as a human and a nephilim. Bella uses pepper spray against a vampire wtf, it's a vampire. The movie "vampires suck" was hilarious. that Bella I liked ! 8)

message 138: by Shelby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Shelby Disagree. And NEVER compare this amazing series or any amazing series to Twilight... looking at it now, it just sucks and is not what as great as I used to think it was.

Tshepang I agree but still disagree .Every great book that is similar to these types of books will always be compared to Twiligh just like how Harry Potter was compared to Lord of the Rings even though they have 3 similarities.

Brianna Taggart I don't think that it is. I think that there are a few similarities (such as them being biology partners), but I think that the plot is completely its own with a really unique and original story line

Clarissa I agree with message 138 and Brianna there is a bit of a difference, nora and patch were bio partners but the class was taught by a coach

message 142: by Medha (new) - rated it 5 stars

Medha I agree with most of the people here. There were just few similarities. And in today's date, every paranormal romance novel is being compared to Twilight because of its popularity.

Carolina. I think that becca is better than Stephanie bc each book is better than the other.

Clarissa true that Carolina.

message 148: by Nuran (new) - rated it 4 stars

Nuran I say fallen is more like twilight than hush hush. Both heroine starts a new school where there true love is. Both end up in a love triangle. Both end up being special. Both end up becoming the same species as their true love. Both true loves are far older than they look. Both love interest acts horrible towards heroine when they first meet!

message 149: by [deleted user] (new)

no if its like any other series its like fallen

Rikki Marie I couldn't pin point any parts of the story that was similar to Twilight. I honestly think that this book was a lot better than the Twilight series; Nora wasn't a weak character, sure she was a bit bizarre at some points, but you'd have to admit, at least she isn't like Zoey Redbird from the House of Night series. She distanced herself a lot from the two male characters and that made me think: "FINALLY! Not a mary-sue!" Sure she had an attraction to Patch, but isn't that sort of like every day life? At least she wasn't all over Elliot and all over Patch at the same time like Bella was with Jacob and Edward.
