I am dying to know when is Stephnie going to marry Ranger and tell Morelli to go to hell?

Janet, I'm a Huge Fan!!! I've read All the Plum books since the Beginning including the "in Betweens" You are a Truly Talented Writer and the Books are a Riot !!!! My question is, Will Stephanie ever get Married? My Favorite Character other than Stephanie is Lula!!! That probably sounds strange coming from a Guy, what can I say. Actually I Love All the Characters. Can't wait for the Next one!!!!

I'd like to know if Stephanie is ever going to get out of her rut? As long as she's been a bounty hunter, you think she would have gotten better at it by now! And pick a man already! She just keeps spinning her wheels, and I'm afraid that she's turning into a joke. :(

I recently read a book by Toni McGee Causey, a Louisiana writer, about a character much like Stephanie Plum. Are you familiar with her books and what do you think about someone modeling their writing after yours?

I am really impressed with your ability to sustain a comic series with repeating characters over so many volumes. Frankly, I don't really care who she ends up with. I don't really think you should mess with comic tropes. Should Bertie Wooster have hired a new butler? Should Stephanie Plum choose?

I suppose my question is whether you really intend to write an ending to the series or whether you'll let the whole thing dangle forever.

I love the books where Diesel shows up. Will he keep popping in and out of Stephanies life? Who do you feel/ fantasize as playing Diesel? Will we ever get more of the history on him and his magic ways?

I've got no questions I can think of right now. Just want to say how much I've loved the series. I listen to it going back and forth to work and people must think I'm crazy I'm laughing so hard sometimes. I like the Stephanie's relationships with both Morelli and Ranger and I think it would hurt the stories if she makes up her mind between them.

Did you have any input in the decision to cast Debbie Reynolds as Grandma Mazur?? She wouldn't have been my first choice. I see more of a 'Golden Girls' Grandma!

I would love to see more of Lula in your books. She really is over the top funny in the spandex outfits! Thank you for writing such entertaining books. I am looking forward to reading the latest. I have listened to a couple of them in the audio version. My compliments to the readers. I kind of hope you will not have Stephanie settle down and get married. It would be great to see her choose a different life outside of the cultural expectations.

Besides Stephanie, who is your favorite character in the books to write about?

I love the between the numbers books.
Will there be more? Adding Diesel to the love triangle makes it even more fun. Don't we all wish there were 3 hot mean wanting us - lol

My question to Janet would be - If you were going to cast the movie, who would be your dream cast to play the following: Stephanie, Morelli, Ranger (Mmmmmmmm Ranger), and Grandma?
My sister turned me onto these books, and I love them. I laugh out loud at Grandma every book.

Question: How much of your writing is drawn from direct personal experience? More so for the human or the animal characters?

I'm actually new to the Stephanie Plum series. So far I've only read the first three and I'm in love! Love her family, her thing with Morelli, the time she spends with Rex as well as her time trying not to get killed. Has it been hard writing such a long series? Had Stephanie Plum been planned to be a series or was it that it was well received?

My question would be whay did you start writing? And why choose the genre you did? HOW did you start writing? Did you approach a publisher with an idea, or did you have a few books done? How do you keep the series fresh for so long? How do you find the time to write? Do you have a specific time of day scheduled? Or do you just do it when the thoughts take over? Who is your favorite author? What advice to someone who has a NEED to do something creative, but does't know where to start?

I would love to know what crazy woman Grandma Bella is based on, she reminds me so much of my great Italian aunts that it makes me laugh hysterically. I also would like to know where you got Grandma Mazur, she is so much fun. And oh the boys, I wish I had that problem, instead of the ones I have. Thank you for a consistently good belly laugh!!!

Will Stephanie EVER grow up?

I don't have anything to ask here that hasn't been asked yet. I just want to say that these books made me laugh even on my darkest days and I feel as if I've known the characters since I read it from the first until the fifteenth book as of now.

Ms Evanovich, you're one of the best writers there are and I'm glad for your books!

Going through all of these questions I can see that everyone agrees with me...it's time for Stephanie to choose her man. I'm on team Ranger! We are all getting tired of her stringing along 2 men. I mean really, 17 books, and still no choice!

I love your books though, they are the only books that have made me laugh until I cryed.

I just finished Smokin' Seventeen and I love it. I am one of the few who like Morelli best. Will Stephanie ever chose between Ranger and Morelli? Are you afraid that if she did chose, there would be no more romantic tension and the books popularity would fizzle out?
I did notice a mistake in Smokin' Seventeen SPOILER ALERT At the top of page 297 Dave says, "...Plus I'm busting ass killing all those f*cking poker players..." Later at the bottom of page 299 Dave says, "What poker game?" On page 300 Dave tells Stephanie he didn't know his victims played poker together. I was surprised to see this. How did that happen?

As you were way ahead of the curve, what do you think of the "all things Jersey" trend that television is giving us? (Real Housewives, Jersey Shoe, Jerseylicious, Jersey Couture, et. al.) Is it good for Jersey? Is it good for the rest of us? Thank you!

After 17 books, I feel like Stephanie never gets any smarter and keeps doing the same dumb stuff. I lost interest in reading the last two books. She never keeps her handcuffs on hand or pepper spray, etc. when it's needed. She's not prepared. She hasn't learned anything from all her previous experiences. Is she going to smarten up more in future books? I like the humor and the characters, but I've lost interest in a character that still stays dumb.

I also LOVED CJ Critt's audio versions. Didn't like the other narrator--she made Grandma sound like an idiot in the worst way.

I love Stephanie,and the whole confusion of who she wants to be with. i don't think that the people that are complaining about this have even gotten married because it was what someone else wanted them to do and is now unsure of what she wants. So with this I identify with her.

I do agree a little bit with her being inept as a bounty hunter, but who hasn't felt that way in their life? I have spent a lot of time in my life feeling like I am just "fakin' it til I make it". Besides she doesn't know who she wants to be when she grows up, right?

I hope that she ends up with Morrelli, not Ranger. A real relationship with Ranger just doesn't seem realistic, no matter what your readers say!

I really don't have a question, I love these books and Steh, do not allow the negative people sway the course that you have for Steph and her "life".

Why, in 17 have you turned Stephanie into a slut? I hope that is not going to continue. Am looking forward to 18 but have been a little disappointed in the same-old, same-old of the last couple books. Will you allow Steph and Lula to grow and change just a little in the future?

It is time for Stephanie to make a choice between Ranger and Joe. I can't decide which one I am pulling for, I just want her to make a decision and then the storyline can go in some new directions. Love the series but am now tired of the back and forth between Ranger and Joe. Enough already! I think there should have been a poll of all the dedicated Stephanie Plum fans as to casting for the movie. Looking forward to it anyway.

I know you sometimes name characters in your books after people that come up with the titles or some other idea. Have you ever met people that have the same name as your characters? If so, which name comes up most often?

I met someone whos's daughter went to school with you and she recomended your books. I have been reading them ever since and pass them on to other people, as a matter of fact I got all my co-workers to read them. They are a laugh a minute.Thank you.

I enjoyed Wicked Appetite with Diesel as the main character. I think he makes a good main character as well as a side for Stephanie in the "in between" novels. Is this going to become a series or was this a one shot deal?

I know that, before you wrote the Stephanie Plum series, your first published books were romance novels. I read most of them and really enjoyed them, they made for fun and light reading and were extremely entertaining. I translate romance novels for a living and am toying with the idea of actually trying to write one someday. My question is: when you started writing professionnally, why did you choose romance, as opposed to other genres? Was it simply a question of demand? Or is it because of a particular love for this genre? I would love to write romance one day, but what advice would you give an aspiring writer? Wait for the idea of the book to bloom inside your head, or sit down, work, and see what comes out of it?

Do you eat peanut butter and olive sandwiches? Is there a story behind this sandwich combination?

I'd love Randy Briggs to come back. Loved him. I hope Stephanie and Joe settle in the Berg and have a couple kids--of course if this was "real life" they'd be too old by now!! I wish Estelle Getty was still around to play Grandma......

I came late to this series, but have caught up and read them all. Love, love Stephanie and Lulu. I keep my husband up laughing and shaking the bed at night with these books. I think Lulu is the funniest person in literature. My question is where did you get the talent to write such halarious words from Lulu and were you a comedy writer in a past life. Love you Janet.

You are a wonderful writer. The characters you have put in your Plum series are fabulous! Not sure why everyone so far keeps wanting Stephanie to be with Ranger or Morelli -- why not have a great new guy sweep her off her feet!!!

You usually have at least one zany addition to the characters, which is what keeps me reading the series.

I love Stephanie--no more Diesel, please. Will Stephanie and Morelli ever truly get together? Ranger would be fun as a single guy, but not as marriage material.

I think that it is a great series, have the last book with a "surprise wedding". The groom can be a surprise until the last minute.

Is there really going to be a Stephanie Plum movie? I heard a lot of buzz about it early last year and now you do not hear anything. If yes, do you know when we can expect it?!

Ok, I am only half way through 12, so it may be too early for me judge, but I feel bad that Ranger keeps dangling himself in front of Stephanie when he clearly had no plans on getting married. I think the tension can be fun but sometimes I get uncomfortable. I really like Morelli and I think that he and Stephanie belong together but I don't think they necessarily need to get married.
