What is trout slapping? Is that something that happens in Colorado?

I agree. There are these kids a couple houses down who think it's fun to skateboard at 6 fucking A.M., effectively waking the whole neighborhood up. People have complained to their parents so many times, no change. I'm one step away from running over their skateboards with my car. Repeatedly.

DO IT.

Louise Did you try talking to the kids?

When I lived in an appartment, there was this guy (I found out later) who didn't turn his alarm clock off in the morning. So it would make a dreadful noise for about and hour, eccoing between the buildings, EVERY day.
One morning I spent 1½ hour going from building to building and listening at all the doors. I found the place and left him a note - noone was home - and thank god it stopped. (He hadn't been aware that he didn't turn it off right before leaving his flat.)

Louise And if that doesn't help, you can always make a lot of noise around their house at some other ungodly hour?

Ema | 53 comments I have told them off. Unfortunately, I'm not too much older than some of them, they don't really pay much attention. It's quite frustrating. I keep telling myself that the older ones will go away to college in a month or so, and it'll get better.

Annette Hart | 172 comments This summer we stopped at a castle and a wedding was taking place. My daughter climbed the grotto for me to take a photo. One of the little bridesmaids decided she wanted to do likewise in her beautiful, ivory, lace and organza, almost full length dress. None of the other wedding guests were near so I did politely suggest she shouldn't climb in case she ruined her lovely dress on the muddy rocks. I then held my breath as she ignored me and I got ready to dive forward in case she tripped on the hem and fell of the rocks. About five minutes later, dad appeared, champagne glass in hand... I think I could have done with one by then!
