HTML in book descriptions

I thought I'd seen bullet lists in book descriptions, but in Everyday Negotiation by Deborah M. Kolb, the raw code was showing up in the book description. I edited the description to include closing tags for all the li tags, but it still shows up as raw code. Is there something I'm missing?

I don't think GoodReads accepts true html lists. I usually fake them just using a series of *'s.

Can HTML tags be use within the description field while editing a book?

Say I want to make a phrase either bold or italics, can i do it without fear of it showing as code?

Yes, most can. Bold and italics certainly can.

What about <p></p> and <br>?

You shouldn't need those, as regular old carriage returns work in descriptions.
