Yay! I hit my target of 100 books in 2011. I'm increasing it to 125 books.

Nah, no worries, Miss Charlotte. You'll catch up, still have 4 months left in the year. This month has been a hard one for me to find time to read. Hate when that happens! Wonder if I could hire someone to follow me around and read to me. Preferably a male with a hot voice. LOL! Hubby probably wouldn't take too kindly to that though, ya think? >;)

I'm right on track with 291 of 450 books for 2011. Charlotte, no worries, I've been 10 books behind so you should be able to catch up. Of course, I've been 10 books in front too, before a slump. LOL

Dawn, apparently it is extremely hard. They've been looking into it for years, with no end in sight. As Vivian said, if it's a book from a previous year thats OK, it just removes it from the stats for that year and adds it to this one OR you can add a different edition of the book.
I didn't realize it would be that hard to add multiple reading dates. That's a bummer.Yay Lauren for hitting your target!
Yeah, I typically move it to the year of my re-read and make a note in the review - original read date and re-read date. Although, I'm kinda liking the "different edition" approach, so that my totals stay accurate for each year.
Thanks Steph and Vivian.I could really do with someone to follow me around reading. On second thought, I need to see the words to internalize them so that might not be a good idea.
Sounds like a plan, Charlotte. Although I'm not a big re-reader, I would like to keep my #s true for each yr. LOL Lauren. Yeah, that probably wouldn't work too well then. ;)
Steph, the OCDemoness in you might not like the multiple editions. But maybe my OCDemoness has different peculiarities than you. I have only re-read a hand full of books at this point, but the multiple eds were starting to bug me when i viewed my bookshelf.Eta: but I also like using close to the actual edition I read, hardcover, paperback, ebook, etc. So that could be partly why it bugs me.
Since I hit my goal so quickly, I upped it to 200. I think I'm 9 books ahead of schedule. I did have 1 reread. I didn't bother to try and adjust the date. Although I might go back and do that if I need it to hit my goal. I don't pay attention to what edition I shelve here. I just want the title listed.
My OCDemoness is very particular about the edition I shelve, that's why I don't do multiple editions unless they really are multiple editions, like if I read the book from the library while waiting for my copy to arrive. One of the reasons I became a GR Librarian. Everything must be correct or I go to meltdown. LOL.
LOL! I think you're right, Vivian & Sandra. She probably wouldn't cope well with that. I haven't re-read many at this point either and I'm typically looking forward instead of behind, so the incorrect count hasn't bothered me much yet.WTG, Mary!
Since this was my first year, I set a goal of 100 and hit that this weekend! So now I am bumping that up another 30 since my goal includes some audiobooks too.
YAY Lis!I upped my goal to 150 a couple of months ago. I was too far ahead and didn't want to feel like I could just slack off. I may have to up it again.....I'm 11 books ahead right now.
I shelve by ISBN. My OCDemoness won't allow anything else......
I had to increase my goal again. Originally it was for 150, then 200. I hit 200 last week so I've increased it to 250. Not sure if Ill be raising it again, if I do, I don't think I'll be raising it by 50 books. I prefer to have the actual book that I read. I always change it to the specific edition I'm reading, especially if I've added it to my tbr before buying. Quite a lot of the UK editions aren't always there though. That bugs me, I must admit. I'd love to find time for more re-reads but there's so many new worlds to explore. It would be good if they could find a way to combat that though. I read a Shelly Laurenston book twice this year, I wish there was a way to note that somehow... Maybe next year they'll have a solution! :)
I shelve every edition I've read as I come across them. (I'm only shelving 1 for this challenge so it doesn't skew my numbers). But for books I read before goodreads. I rate each edition. They're the same so I don't get why ISBN really matters. I know some come with bonuys material and stuff. But the main book is the same. Unless they're condensed versions.
Urgh. My books read is about 6 short under the challenge thingy. I don't know which ones that I forgot to rate & date. I wish there was a way to bring up just the titles by date read or alphabetically so I could easily see which ones were missing.
Mary, I just think I'm pedantic and a control freak about ISBNs. No big deal. LOL. I don't force it down anyones throat so I'm not crazy or anything. ROLMAO
Michelle, are you adding the books by ISBN cause they should import if they aren't in the system or are you saying the ISBNs are there just with the wrong cover and info? If so, just slip me a note and I'll fix them for you.

I think you just see the covers though.
Hmm. It seems to be showing them in order read now with most recent ones up front. Last time I pulled it up because I was missing books-It put the covers up in just some random order. I'm doing the Serious Readers Reading Level Challenge in teh Nothing But Reading Challenges group. So I keep a list that's pretty much in the order I read them. When the Goodreads Challenge had them all jumbled up it was hard to scroll through adn see what I might have missed.
They're in order now though. I probably forgot to date some that I took awhile to read.
