In the beginning i hated Simon. Towards the end of the series, though, he got really cool. He's actually one of my favorite characters now. He's awesome.

i just feel bad about the seelie court....that had to be tough
Yeah. Back when i didn't really like him much, i did feel bad about everything that he was going through. But i was also angry with him for being so stupid. He knew that Clary had strong feelings for Jace, and he was just setting himself up to get his heart broken by making moves on Clary. Of course, Clary deserved more blame than Simon did. She knew how she felt about Jace, and it just sort of felt like she was using Simon to get over Jace at times. She never really made any attempt to tell Simon that she wasn't interested in that kind of relationship with him.
Then Simon just went ahead and accepted it himself, without hearing it from Clary. That's when i really started to respect and like his character. Simon is much more mature than Jace, and that's an admirable quality that i see in him.
Yeah. She totally used him!!! that made me mad. I'm almost done with the last one now, and I like him a LOT better.

Even so, everyone knew how she felt about him. Maybe she didn't intentionally use Simon, but she did somewhat play him. She led him on, making him think that he had a chance with her.
I almost cried in COA when simon was attacked, and had tears inn my eyes when Valentine slashed him. But Clary did use him, to try and get iver her feelings for Jace, since she knew he was her brother....and it would be wrong to date your brother. But Simon is such a sweetheart, and I love him and Iz!Simon rocks, in my eyes!

but then i stopped hating him, because he wasn't quite as annoying in city of glass. and i like him and izzy together. <3 lol
I love Simon and Izzy! :DBut they don't have any sort of fan following, like at all. I'm searching desperately for some fanfics, but i came up with zilch, nada, naught, etc. :P
Ha, i do sometimes. But motky when i know chracters won't get prorper recognition, like Simon and Isabelle. I like to hear what people come up with :D

yeah for some reason i really don't like him. i don'r have a reason to but hes like a tiny stain on a shirt that you wish would so awsy

I only liked him in the last book. But he's nowhere close 2 jace.

Which is good, because the fourth book :D is gonna be simon centric! I agree sella, I'm completely team simon! I love Jace, but not in the same way i love Simon, ya know?!

I LOVE Jacob! I think Simon is a little bit of a waste of a character... he doesn't really serve much purpose in the first or second book – I only really liked him in the third.

Whaaat? Simon does too have a purpose! He's so supportive of Clary; he's a great friend. He's also hilarious. ;D and i think he sorta represents the "normal" part of Clary's life, you know?

Yeah I never thought of it like that. He is hilarious too. I just don’t understand why Clary kept keeping him around when he kept getting hurt or turned into things... a normal person would have stayed away but no Simon kept running after it… do you get me??
I liked Simon once he was turned because then he seemed to be on the same level.
WEll... I agree to some point, that Simon was annoying, and I liked him best in the third book. But I think he was very critical, just like Jacob in Twilight. And everything Brigid said was true.

haha actually i've changed my mind since then ... i love simon now. but the first time i read the first two books he annoyed me. ><
im rereading them right now, and i gotta say, he's alright in CITY OF GLASS. lol as long as he's not kissing clary. when they're like trying to be bf/gf in ASHES i was just like "siiickkkk" - and idk is it just me or does clary remind anyone else of ginny weasley (sometimes)?
I use to hate Simon too (especially in Ashes) but once I finished reading Glass I love him!! I can't wait to read City of Fallen Angels...
Me too! I still like Jace, Magnus, and a few other characters better, but I love him now.
ohh.. i dont relli like simon, i knew from the start he was gonna be a relli annyoing character- wanting to always tag along and be with clary, but after he became a vampire i guess he was more able to be by himselfi love jace.. and i think magnus is a crack up!
yess definitely! like being a vampire made him more idk appealing, is that the right word? cause before, like when he tagged along virtually EVERYWHERE (like to the seelie court, etc) i was like "why is the mundane here?" which i guess isnt that bad of a question, as alec even asked it! - but im a little confused: city of "fallen angels" seems like a nephilim thing, and isnt this supposed to be SIMON's book? idk seems like an interesting title name...
yeah it dus sound like a shadowhunter name.. i wudve guessed it has something to do with jace and clary coz they both hav angel blood in them..?
OMG Simon was so sooky! it wasnt funny. But then again I did feel sorry for him, he was always the outcast in the group never really wanted he kinda just tagged around because of clary.
