missART | 71 comments Hi everyone! I was so excited when I found this group. Fellow study buddies unite! :) I am rather new to GoodReads as well, so this is all very exciting.
Well, I've been a big fan of the Study series since about 2006 when my friend first recommended it. Since then I've enjoyed each sequel and can't wait till Storm Glass! I work at a bookstore so I'm hoping I can get my hands on a ARC.
I can't wait to get to know everyone and talk Study. :)

TWO WEEKS i have to wait two weeks for the book
stupid shop all sold out n it takes two weeks when its ordered.....im not happy ...grr

message 58: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Keelin,

Maybe you can try Interlibrary Loaning it from your public library? You can just go to the reference desk at the library and ask them if any of the nearby libraries has a copy they'd loan to your library. That way you can get it pretty quickly.

message 59: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Hey Alli!

Welcome to the group! It's nice to have some new people and new perspectives on the study series.

message 60: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Keelin- wow I'm really really sorry that all the books sold out. :( Two weeks is a long time to wait...

message 61: by missART (new)

missART | 71 comments Thanks Kristen! :) Everyone here seems so personable and genuine. I'm excited to get settled in!

message 62: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments It's a great group and we all love books, especially fantasy, so it's a lot of fun to chat it up.

message 63: by missART (new)

missART | 71 comments Well good, fantasy is one of my fav genres. :) I'm swimming in the right waters!

FYI--Fire Study is sold out all over the US and has gone into a third printing! Yay, Study Buddies! It came out only about a year ago... less, actually! So it sounds really good that they sold through 2 printings already ^_^ although I don't know how many each print run is.

I am hoping it will be back in stock in a week or 2--yes, Maria, my store that had piles of it last week is now totally out!

message 66: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Woohoo! Yaay! That's such great news! I don't know how many each print run either, but it sounds really impressive to me!

Figures. Alfonso told me that they're sold out at Vromans and they've had to place Spos.

message 68: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments That is so awesome Alethea! That's great that it's still gaining so much popularity.

I like to think that Study Buddies had something to do with it!

message 70: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Of course we did, we're always trying to make friends read the books, and we just chat about them like crazy. I'm glad I found this group!

message 71: by Gisela (new)

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 180 comments Yeah, here nobody will think you're weird because you love books!

message 72: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Cause then we'd all be weirdos huh?

Sharing IS caring! :D

Not too long ago, a lady came into the store and about toppled me over because we had just sold out of Magic Study and Fire Study the day before and she needed them now!! Haha. She loved Poison Study so much, brings a tear to my eye! We got them to her as fast as we could!!

message 75: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Awwww! That's so awesome Alli! Did you end up talking to her about your love for them too? I love chatting people up about the books they're reading.

No kidding. My husband, the writer, gives me all kinds of crap about my nose constantly being in a book. You'd think out of respect for his own profession he'd keep it to himself. ha ha ha Luckily it's all done in good fun. But it is nice to talk about books with you guys.

I can understand that my hubby is not an author but he still give me trouble over always reading he says if the house was on fire I would never notice because I would be reading hahahaha I think I would realize if it started getting really hot and smokey... I think LOL

message 79: by Min (new)

Min (minbuchanan) Meme - ha ha. I think I might too. But then again it really depends on what book I'm reading. Sometimes I get so into a book that it takes up my entire day (if I have it free). I barely eat or notice the time go by. Unfortunately those days are far and few between with school and work.

message 80: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments I know them days to well I have them when my kids are not at home or I will stay up all night reading and not even know its been all night until hubby ask have you not went to sleep at all. whoops LOL but sometime you just cant put them down

message 81: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments My fiance couldn't find me the other day in our apartment because I was being so "quiet" reading my book. I wasn't oohing and ahhing or moving around cleaning. I was so engrossed in Skinned that I intentionally kept ignoring him. He's so used to going places with me and being "annoyed" by me to do stuff that he wasn't sure what to do with himself.

message 82: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments LOL there is nothing wrong with just being by yourself for a while

message 83: by Min (new)

Min (minbuchanan) So true! My husband does the same thing only with video games. I guess he doesn't always see the parallel though. ha ha ha And he usually requires surround sound to play, so I generally know where he is in the house.

message 84: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments That is so my fiance, but he gets "bored" with the games when I'm not nagging him... or by him. If I'm in one of the other two rooms he comes and finds me after like 20 or 30 minutes. I think it's because he's only 20 - he's been having some "boredom" issues.. not sure why.

message 85: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments my hubby is the same except for his is movies and I could tell he is watching them even if I was across the street lol he likes it really load, and pays no attention to me when he is watching so why do they complain when you don't pay attention when your reading lol

message 86: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments I know... it's crazy isn't it? They think we're there to support them even when they're busy. When we're busy it's all about them and then huff and puff.

message 87: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments that would be a man for you HEHE I guess that is part of why we love them

message 88: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments Yeah, they can't seem to leave us alone they just need us so much. :)

message 89: by Meme (new)

Meme (mstylp) | 519 comments them just loves us so much

ummm I have no Idea I have been trying to figure that out for a while but I am not smart enough to ask people that have been here a while LOL, you could email Alethea she could probable tell you.

message 92: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments ok thanks Meme

message 93: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 511 comments For books pics, I know you just use the add book/author link about the comment box and there's a checkbox that shows at the bottom, so you can hit coverart and it will show the book cover. For pics from your computer, I don't really know.

message 94: by Thu (new)

Thu | 136 comments I think I'll just add a book picture then hahaha

message 97: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13 comments Hello!
Thanks Alethea! None of my 'real' friends read the sort of books I do; it's like I speak a completely different language than they do. So this group of Snyder fans all together is pretty awesome. . . XD I'm relatively new to Goodreads, but so far it seems pretty cool! :)

~Sarah

message 99: by Ashley (new)

Ashley Lavering (ashleylavering) Hi Everyone,

My name is Ashley. I am new and am quite lost. I have never joined a group before, but since I loved Maria V. Synder's books I couldn't resist:-)

message 100: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 175 comments Welcome Ashley! Glad to meet a fellow MVS fan!! Don't worry about being lost- it takes a while to get used to things. I recommend just going to the group home page and scrolling down until you see a discussion you find fascinating. Then you can read what other people wrote and write what you have to say at the bottom of the page. I hope that helps! If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
