You should try Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. It is darker, though.

Pet (petruck) | 22 comments Help!!!
I've just reached the last book in Darynda Jones's Charley Davidson's series... I'm about a quarter into it and realized to my horror that the next book is only out next year... May!!! Inconceivable!!

Now since y'all don't know me I'll have to do some 'splaining. I hate cliffhangers, I loath, detest, and generally want to throw pointy things at all cliffhangers, especially when the next in the series is more than six months away. To avoid my cliffhanger-sidal tendencies I avoid them, which means I can't finish this book.... unless someone somewhere has another series just as good or better (impossible I know, right?) to see me through those long horrid months.
Please please pretty please.

How about the Darkfever (Fever, #1) by Karen Marie Moning series. Five books and the series has been completed. I'm the same way about cliffhangers nowadays.

message 157: by Pet (new)

Pet (petruck) | 22 comments Thank you Pamela :) but I've read them, loved loved loved them... well ok truthfully I loved Barrons, and thank goodness the series was done by the time I started reading them because it would have driven me out of my mind to wait for the next installment on those...hmmm maybe I should just re-read those?

Hi Pet. I just need to get a feel for what you read so I can make some suggestions.

Georgiana | 13 comments Hi Pet. I see you have Stacia Kane's Unholy Ghosts on the TBR pile. That is a great series to take the edge off. Be warned, however, it's not done either (although there are five books and some novellas thus far). Enjoy. : )

Pet (petruck) | 22 comments Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress wrote: "Hi Pet. I just need to get a feel for what you read so I can make some suggestions."

Series that I love beyond acceptable standards...

Ilona Andrews, :- Kate Daniels.
Meljean Brooks ; --- Everything she writes.
Nalini Singh : Same as above.
Gena Showalter's :- LOTU
(sheesh this is hard!!)
I've sadly fallen out of love with J.R. Ward, (it's not her it's me, though) but we can still be friends.
Oh and of course, how could I forget???
Jeaniene Frost ;- also anything she writes.

Thank you thank you, this thread is awesome and you are all great for helping out :D

You're welcome. In turn, you reminded me that I should move The Iron Duke up to 'read next.' Thanks.

message 165: by Pet (new)

Pet (petruck) | 22 comments Georgiana....run, don't walk, don't stop at go, get that book find a corner and tell the rest of the world to stand behind the "do not cross" yellow tape for the next few hours (or days depending on how fast you read) while you read The Iron Duke!! It really is that good! :P

I was not particularly fond of Steampunk before I read that, now I'm addicted, (it really is shameful what lengths I will go to for a bit of Victorian cogs, reels and steam.) :D

I enjoyed Royal Street. I normally hate love triangles, but I find I like the guys that might end up being love interest(s) fairly equally. Not sure about Jean Lafitte though. It doesn't have the snark of Charley Davidson, but it's a good female lead UF book.

Lol, Pet, but tell me how you really feel. ; ) It's funny, but I'm glad to read what you wrote about Steampunk. I've read a few from the genre and liked them, I think, despite the Steampunk aspects. O.O It's just not my favorite 'built world' but I can get into for an otherwise great book.

Pet (petruck) | 22 comments It's been a while since anyone posted here, but I have a few suggestions to make to the reading world. I've discovered a whole range of new books that I love and authors that astound and delight me, and I thought I would share them. So here goes...

If you like Slave to Sensation and Big Bad Beast (though sadly SL is one of a kind in so many ways) then you will probably like Eternal Hunter. She writes in a number of diverse genre so there is basically something for everyone.
I know she's a favorite on this group - her hero's are absolutely dangerously addictive :P - but I noticed she was not on this thread and thought I'd add her.

Another favorite of mine...

If you loved, Deadly Heat, and Deadly Obsession, then I'd recommend trying Midnight Promises. Her hero's are great big softies when it comes to their cuddlebunny's and it's such a sweet change from ruff and gruff all the time.
And one more suggestion, If you love Paris, Chocolate and Dangerously sexy hero's that have a soft and gooy inside, I recommend The Chocolate Kiss I do not have anything to compare Laura florand with, since I have not found anyone out there quite like her. But I highly recommend Laura Florand her writing is ... well in a word delicious.

On that I have Playing Dirty and Westin's Chase

It kind of depends if you prefer a bit of romance with your action or if you prefer a bit of action with your romance. :D

Hello, fellow DH lovers. I'm looking for more authors like Shannon McKenna. Steamy but not kinky with dangerous, possessive, jealous heroes. No anal or extreme BDSM. Can you recommend any authors?

message 180: by Imaginary (new)

Imaginary (imaginary89) This may not be 100% what you're looking for but have you tried King by TM Frazier?

Try the Sin Brothers series by Rebecca Zanetti?
