Thanks for the suggestion! I loved Hunger Games, in the reviews for Beyond the Night it was said that Joss Ware is a pseudonym for Colleen Gleason, and I loved the Gardella Vampire books
If you liked Bloodfever, you might like Twice Bitten and Succubus Blues. If you liked Dark Lover, you might like Desire Untamed.
If you liked Halfway to the Grave, you might like Magic Bites and First Grave on the Right and Dead Until Dark and Touch the Dark

It seems like when I'm just about to read it, someone recommends me another book to read. Hopefully I'll have it read by the time the movie comes out though.

Read it! Lol, I thought the first book was the best but they're all very good
Doesn't it have a love triangle, though? Words cannot describe my hatred for the dreaded love triangle.
~Megan~ wrote: "Doesn't it have a love triangle, though? Words cannot describe my hatred for the dreaded love triangle."It's not really a romance - so may not be as bad as you think. I mean, she 'chooses', but, well, oh, I think I will give too much away if I say anymore. (view spoiler)
~Megan~ wrote: "Doesn't it have a love triangle, though? Words cannot describe my hatred for the dreaded love triangle."The romance is secondary, so its not as annoying...I hate love triangles too. Like Jennifer said she does "choose," but in my opinion its a very believable situation ....I don't want to spoil anything so that's really all I say!
I am not good at this but I know it works for me... after .
......... These satisfied my desire for something similar ... I loved them both

are at a decent stopping point? I had read somewhere that it was meant to be a trilogy, so I'm assuming I won't be left hanging but I just wanted to check. The Fever series is one of my all time faves, so I'm always up for reading a similar series.

I hate cliffhangers as well. The Fever series was very stressful for me. It was a great series but the cliffhangers were hard. Duchess Nicole, you'll be fine reading Unholy Ghosts. I love this series. There are three books already out. Just make sure you read them together. At the end of the 3rd one, it's NOT a cliffhanger. But I believe we will be getting two more books in the series this year. I can't wait. I just want to warn you that this is a very dark world the author has created. But it's one of my fave series.

Thank you so much! I'll bump them up my tbr, then. I'm not opposed to a dark series, as long as it's not really disturbing. I've heard these two compared a lot, so I figure it's time to read it.
Duchess Nicole, yes, I have to chime in - you will be fine reading the first three. I am really looking forward to March, when the next one is supposed to come out, but not dying in agony like I was last January waiting for Shadowfever!
Great! Thanks to you both! Anyone else have any comparisons to the Fever series? (or to Barrons, lol)
I have read so many of these books and the others are on my to read list. This group is the perfect place for me! Has anyone read Beautiful Disaster and found something that would compare?

I haven't read Beautiful Disaster yet, Johnna, but I've heard it's good and plan to read it. Have you read Perfect Chemistry? You might enjoy it. Loved the book, myself.
Yes I have read Perfect Chemistry and the rest of that series. She has another series that I have, but have not read yet...Maybe I should try that! Thank you for the advice.

I haven't read them, but I believe so. All in my tbr pile. But she's recommended to fans of Simone Elkeles. Warning, they are YA.
Stupid question but what is HEA? I'm the only person I know that doesn't have a cell phone and know all these abbreviations!
Don't feel bad Johnna That is the only abbreviation I know on here! LOL
We should have an abbreviations thread, because I had to ask what DT books were. It stands for Dead Tree books. :-D
OK, what is a Dead Tree book? I am learning a lot on here!
Me too...... I never heard DT either...
I would like a thread like that too

this is a huge help while i wait for fifty shades freed!!
Someone was looking for books similar to
Dying Bites. The closest I could reasonably come up with is
The Eyre Affair.'The Eyre Affair' takes place in an alternate universe, although the heroine, Thursday Next, has not been transplanted. It takes place in a modern, though quasi-steampunk, Reading, England. There aren't any vampires or werewolves, but there are cloned dodo birds and Neanderthals, even though they've been extinct. There's also the danger of mega-corporations deciding you're too dangerous to society and 'erasing' your existence. But mostly, it's about policing the world of literature. (Some familiarity with the classics is necessary to get through these books.)
Oh...there's also not very much by way of romance or hot guys, but it is pretty humorous...

I had the same problem with Acheron...I came back to it then skipped along to present day. IT WAS MUCH BETTER.
Help! I'm looking for an author like Cindy Gerard or Roxanne St. Claire; someone who writes a good romantic suspense! I've already done all the Karen Rose and Ann Stuartbooks. It really kinda sucks when you read alot!
Cindi wrote: "Help! I'm looking for an author like Cindy Gerard or Roxanne St. Claire; someone who writes a good romantic suspense! I've already done all the [author:Karen Rose|7..."What about Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooters series? Amazing, and one of my favorite RS series. Also, I just started reading the Last Chance Rescue series by Christy Reece, and it's pretty good, too.
Thanks, Duchess, Christy Reece is a good one that I've only partially read ... and then forgotten to follow up on! I've already read all the Troubleshooters' but it may be fun to go back to the beginning of those for a reread.
my first thought was If you like JR Ward's BDB then you'll like Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed. Actually that's how I learned about Adrian's series. I also learned about kerrilyn Sparks Love at Stakes series because I liked the Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands.
Often I'll check out a series by an author whose comments are on a cover of a book I really like, or from a site that tells me what others have purchased that also purchased the book I am.
