Farida Mestek Do you have a character that you have known for ages and decades? A character that appeared in your head and then entered your life, becoming a fixed entity there, a member of your family? I have one such character and I'm talking about her at The Upper Kingdom today (http://the-upper-kingdom.blogspot.com...). Why don't you stop by and share your stories?

Creature | 22 comments Hello:
I have several characters that have appeared in numerous stories of mine. I like them and use them when I can fit them in to what I'm working on at the time.
Have a Great Day!!!

F.J. Hansen (fjhansen) | 16 comments I started writing my current series of novels back in February 2005. The main dragon character of those novels, Varthikes, I met a week or so earlier. The main Human character, Audwin McClance, arrived on the scene a few months later. He's the younger brother of another character that I started writing back in 1999.

Kathrin Lake | 6 comments I have a story about this. About 15 years ago, I was at a cousellor and she was do visualization work with me. She asked if I had a inner place that I could create to go to and draw strength from. I proceeded to describe in the detail that only a writer can about this inner cave I had created years before and go to just before I go to sleep (to help me with insomina). I told her about the dog I had there (I don't have a dog in reality), the culture, the land, my role there, etc, etc. She was floored. She never had a writer for a client I guess. Anyway she made me realize I had created this world and wasn't using it so I started creating more characters for it after that and they have been morphing for 15 years and I just started really writing it about a year ago. The book(s) I have been working on are a series, called the Land of the Ancients and the first book is about the four sorceresses called the Sister of the Ancients. But it is very reality-like fantasy, more like a female Game of Thrones.

Rachel | 3 comments The characters for "Into the Blind Darkness" the novel I'm working on now started emerging in 2005, they and the world around them have been growing ever since. One of the characters, the knight Marken, has been around about a year longer than the rest, but as a younger man. I toyed around with a couple ideas for him, and one of them even makes into the novel in part, because it's a journey he went on twenty-five years before that really made a big impact on his life.

My Witch, Lilith and my Demigod twins, Meng and Meabel have been with me for about ten years. They've been through all sorts of trials and tribulations (not to mention the rewrites). I've made them suffer.

I love Lilith, she's a bit like a slightly scary daughter. Meng is brutish and difficult to handle (he gives me trouble) and Meabel is nasty but fun to write.

My series is quite long and I'm glad of that as I'm not looking forward to parting with them
