Lol, I think that sounds pretty cool Barbara! Could you tell me a bit more about it? What books did ye have to read for it? What course do you study?

I'm sorry that you disliked it so much, Barbara. That tacher sounds really annoying! What do you think of your course in general though? As an aside,I did an exam last year on politics in the EU, and Portugal was one of the countries I had to write an essay on! Portuguese politics are very interesting!

I think our political history is interesting; the way we do politics nowadays, not so much.

Worst class ever. Two hours speaking of ethics and moral nonstop, I gave up 15 mins into the class. Fortunately I can change it for something else - which I did.

My dad and brother do that for a living, so I figured I'd have plenty of help on the side. Unfortunately, I'm absolutely horrible at science, and because I was one of the last groups to register, that was all that was available to me.
The only reason my D in the class ended up as a B was because the professor put curves on the exams and everybody always failed. I have all my other confused classmates to thank for not having my GPA crushed.

I got an A in high school, but this professor just does not know how to teach. He is used to online classes, so that's how he runs everything. I do good on our online quizzes and assignments (As or Bs), but the actual exams I fail.
I have actually stopped going to class and am teaching myself everything.

Completely agree Jana. I had to take two Drawing classes. I was a photography major, so had no skills of drawing...it was horrible. Those benches would just kill your back too!! Not to mention we had to draw nude people as well. It's no wonder I switched my major lol

Oh, and even though I really liked last semester's Intro to Synchronic Linguistics class, the second part of it (mandatory again... the joys of just having started) is going to suck because the teacher makes me feel like I'm back in seventh grade. GAH. I want to keep my good grade, but I'm doubtful I can with this kind of teacher. I need someone to challenge me! :(

Jules, I'm also in a mandatory statistics class this semester, and I can say without a doubt that it is my least favorite class.
That is because stats really isn't fun. I love math and enjoyed my math classes. I detested my stats classes. The instructor probably added to that too.

Amanda: Oh yes, lectures on research methods totally suck. Had one last semester, have a different one this semester.

Everytime she started a class she kept telling us where the door was if we wanted to leave...what a real promoter of higher learning.
Sociology, I felt depressed through the whole class.

That's not good. BioAnth was one of my favorite classes! My prof was amazing and very well researched and accredited. I find that the greater I like my prof the greater I enjoy the class...

I am sorry Kimberly. Maybe I could pretend to be you and take the test? :) Wait a minute. Didn't a bunch of kids just get in trouble for that recently? Maybe not such a good idea. I wish I could help on the test part though. Good Luck.

I've signed up for it next semester with the best professor in the department, and this time I get to take it in class and not online.

I also think a good professor makes a huge difference. We all have that one teacher whether it be present or past that could get through to us like no one else can.

I missed the mid-term for it once and the teacher wouldn't let me take it late since it seems like it only took her 2 hours to correct all of the tests which meant spring break for her. I retook the course, with the same teacher, and I have no idea what happened but I do recall the teacher yelling at me for not attending the class daily as if I didn't A) Know she taught exactly out of the textbook and B) take the class a quarter ago.
Oh, and Women's History. It's never the topic that I don't like, it is the teacher. This teacher had to be the worse one I ever had. Seems like she isn't employed as a teacher anymore though.

I had a teacher that did that. He basically forced all the students to take their questions to other math teachers or to the tutors. After class, so many students would go to Class 2.0 aka large group tutoring sessions.

The next class I choose is Psychology. I thought it would be a cool and interesting class, but instead, I can barely stay up during it! The lectures are so basic and the class discussions are annoying!

I changed fields entirely, but the next class I didn't like so much was a graduate course called Applied Linear Algebra. I mean, I don't even know if I dislike this subject the organization for this was so confusing. There was no applications to anything... the professor just told us all these stories about how he had cancer and how Linear Algebra was used in all these different situations. We never even modeled any of that, he just told us to do questions in the book, which he wrote! And his book was not very clear it was all heavy analysis stuff, which I was somewhat confused by because there were no examples of any kind in his book and I usually quite enjoy analysis and pure math far more than the applied stuff... so I should have loved the course.
Adam, NOTHING could be worse than our AIS class. Our teacher had some type of weird thing going on that had nothing to do with accounting, more like computer programing. I totally understand where you are coming from on that front. I worked at the time at a CPA firm and he would get so mad when I told him and the rest of the class that this had nothing to do with Accounting work in the real world. If you want to teach a "system" that would help the most people, make it a QuickBooks class. :)

It's funny I missed out on all this math discussion... I finished my degree last year and now I'm a math professor haha

Maybe because I was a first semester freshman and ended up with a .9 GPA.
