Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments I am taking:

Technical/ Professional Writing
Linguistics
Survey of Accounting
Author focus: Arthur Conan Doyle

message 157: by Kelly A. (new)

Kelly A. | 499 comments Rock climbing? That's amazing.

message 158: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments haha, yup. I'm really lucky, my university offers a bunch of fun PhysEd classes. I've taken fencing, archery and now rock climbing. They have a huge rock wall in the gym, and we use that most of the time but we have a ton of areas we can go 'real' rock climbing. The instructor is going to take us to one of his favorite areas for class in a couple of weeks, it's only a few blocks away from campus.

message 159: by Sashana (new)

Sashana That sounds awesome, Kimberly. My college doesn't have any PhysEd classes.

message 160: by Julia (new)

Julia (taspsandiego) | 16 comments We do have PhysEd classes here, but they are almost impossible to get in - unless you are a PhysEd major... So, I'm taking:
- Heat Transfer
- Control and Automation Lab
- Aerodynamics
- Heat Transfer Lab
- Fabrication Processes
- Flight Dynamics
- Machine Elements

Kimberly, a really dumb question from an Accouting Major, but what is Survey of Accounting?

message 163: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments Tami wrote: "Kimberly, a really dumb question from an Accouting Major, but what is Survey of Accounting?"

haha, Tami. It's just Intro to Accounting, I haven't the slightest idea why they call it "Survey of Accounting". I think everyone in that department at Weber are... Well they aren't my favorite people. They probably just called it that to make it sound more unique, or something like that.

message 164: by Stephanie (new)

-Nursing clinicals& skills/ lab

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments I've dropped down to just 9 credit hours this semester. I am SO burnt out. I have a year or less left. I'm at the point I where I can barely bring myself to care about my classes. Any tips? Ways you've kept yourself from burning out to badly?

message 180: by Sashana (new)

Sashana Kimberly wrote: "I've dropped down to just 9 credit hours this semester. I am SO burnt out. I have a year or less left. I'm at the point I where I can barely bring myself to care about my classes. Any tips? Ways yo..."

Whenever I get burnt out I schedule some girl time with my friends. Sometime we just hang out at each other's houses and try to make new recipes. Other times we just window shop.

message 181: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Kimberly, I totally get where you're coming from. I just started a new program and I'm feeling burnt out already. My suggestion is to have a day or two where you just stay in bed and read. Don't worry about your work. Find a time where you don't have any assignments that are immediately pressing, of course, but then don't work even though you ought to. It feels a little rebellious and very relaxing.

message 182: by Adam (new)

Adam | 83 comments Yeah, maybe scheduled "you time" is in order. Unless some pressing assignment comes up, try to schedule a few hours every week for just you. TO read or do whatever.

I really want to try that because last semester was infuriating for me. The classes were not what was described and I wound up having to drop Topology because the instructor and I just didn't click. I didn't know what he was saying and he didn't understand my questions.

I'm trying really hard to look forward to this semester... I talked my favorite professor into offering a grad course so I KNOW I'll have at least one thing to keep me interested. *sigh* Just one more year of this grad program...

message 183: by Lori (new)

Lori Walker Adam, Scheduling You Time is absolutely necessary. I've tried getting into a routine of shutting myself down at 9:00 (I'm an early riser, so I go to bed earlier) and reading until 10:00. It has been really helpful to me in the past.

Hang in there all of you. My first time around in school, I got burnt out and just ended up quitting. Which was really silly because I was over half way to my degree, and when I finally went back, I had to retake almost half the classes, because they were called something different now. UGH! if that wasn't annoying! I agree with the "me time" suggestion, but please find something! Good luck everyone.

message 185: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! :)

The first time I went to school I failed basically all my courses, with a nice D in English. I just got so frustrated I wanted to quit after my first year. So I know how the feeling goes.
