Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
question
Does anyone else think Ron is lovely but clueless

Is it just me but Ron despite being lovely and full of wonderful characteristics -loyalty, bravery, funny, passionate, honourable - most of the time he's just clueless as to what's going on just below the surface?
Exactly! He's just like Pippin! That's why I love his character so much. I'm always drawn to the clueless and/or underdog characters.
That is what makes Ron so appealing and lovable. I mean, it took YEARS to acknowledge his feelings for Hermione. But he can be very attentive and observant at times.
Well, yes, I would have to agree that Ron is quite clueless...and tactless, and rude, and most often times, an idiot. He does have his redeeming qualities, like his loyalty, but even this is tested several times. In fact, I would say Hermoine has been more loyal to Harry throughout the years than Ron has, which Harry never seems to appreciate. For all his faults, he is still a wonderful character, and I mean that in the literary sense. His faults make him human and beleivable and gives extra intriuge to the plot. So, does Ron have his faults? Oh my gosh, yes. Does he have is shining moments? Of course. Is he my favorite? Not a chance. But, the world of Harry Potter wouldn't be nearly as wonderful without him.
Completely agree. I love him, though. He's completely adorable. Maybe he's clueless because he gets so overwhelmed, he doesn't realize what's going on half the time. :)
Yes. Then again, he's aware of whats going on around him sometimes. Remember when, in the final book, he spoke Parceltongue? (sorry for bad spelling!!) He's a good character.
Yeah, definitely. He is so oblivious to what is REALLY going on.
