people already do

Anna Lee Clara wrote: "this is creepy guys... how can you know each other???? Clara is officially confuzzled."

Well....you see....it is really quite a long and confusing story. I'm sure the Apocalypse would care to explain that he's my brother.
Ohhhhhhhhh the secret's out!

Cupcake Bookworm younger or older brother?

Cupcake Bookworm or is it just a joke?

Anna Lee Oh no it's very true. I promise you that.
The thing is that he'll deny it, but it is totally true.
You guys have to try to figure out who's telling the truth.
It won't be that hard.
Oh and he's younger......

Like what for instance? If you're going to comment like that can I see your ideas of better books. I agree there are better books but still that doesn't make this bad.

I like Stephen King and Jodi Picoult novels, The Hunger Games, Hate List, Dante's Inferno, Shiver, and more.

PJO is actually a childrens/middle grade book. but it falls slightly into YA because so many readers of that age read it. ((like me!))

i don't like Stephen King. His books didn't really give me the chills. I thought they were just weird not spooky.

Which one did you read?

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ Pet Semetary

Anna Lee I didn't read that one.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ i have another friend who read that book and said he was creeped out of his mind. I read it at like 12 at night ((i read at night)) and I didn't even get the chills.

Anna Lee Lets see.....I read 1408, Autopsy Room 4, Needful things, The Man in the Black suit, and I think that's it.......

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ sound interesting enough I might check him out. Big might, too many books ahead of it.

Anna Lee My favorite was 1408. It's a short story. I read it in one night.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ kk. I'll add it to my to read. but currently I just want to read: The Outcasts, Runaway, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, Journey to the Centre of the Earth, a whole bunch of other books and The new Rick Riordan books that don't come out till May of next year!

message 530: by Sarah (new)

Sarah I did the first book and it was killing me. I then watched the film and I was like... O.O this is so much better !! I just couldn't bring myself to read the rest. Even though I'm constantly lecturing my friends about the whole 'read it before you see it' thing, I think I preferred the film MUCH more.

message 531: by Carly (last edited Dec 09, 2011 12:58PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Carly That's your take on the series. I personally love the series, yes they're are other amazing books out there, but Percy Jackson is one (to me) that I can read over and over no matter my age. I just get joy out of reading them.

so did I. I have read them over 20 times

message 536: by Robin (new) - rated it 3 stars

Robin Here's what I think:
I think that there are a ton of books out there that are better and deserve just as much credit.
I think that Rick Riordan receives the credit he deserves {and a bit more} for writing a series of books that presented something that the world was looking for-something that didn't require very much thinking, something that was an easy read, something that didn't have a deep plot or a lot of character development-something a little bit boring for those of us you read because we like it, not because we want to be one of the people who's read a popular series.
I also think that the whole thing is being dragged on. I don't think it was necessary to add Percy to the Heroes of Olympus series.
In short-they're not bad, but just not as good as some books.

Uh How? I thought the movie was a poor imitation of the book. They left out some major characters. I thought the book was WAY better.

Cupcake Bookworm the movie was good, but horrible COMPARED to the book...but on its own, it was okay

The Exterminator yea I read them 6 times each

george ☽ i loved all of these books! i read them and are obsessed with them because they're awesome!

message 542: by Adam (new) - rated it 4 stars

Adam For me, the whole Olympian series is just fun to read. I just pick up the book, get sucked into a fun (although not necessarily complex) plot, action, and humor. I have a lot of fun reading them. They are definitely NOT masterpieces of literature. Many times while I'm reading I think, "Hey, I think he's been in this situation before." I could point out tons of problems with it but that doesn't mean I don't love to read them. I know many people find them old after the first two or so; I don't. Overall: a great series I think.

message 543: by Clara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Clara i just got The Lightning Thief back from my sister's friend and she said that it was an easy read and i SOO agree with her on that... but i LUV these books!!!!!

message 544: by Clara (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cupcake Bookworm this book is a nice light read...especially when my brother makes me po'd

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO agree. They're just fun to read. Main reason why most people love them.

Anna Lee Cupcake wrote: "the movie was good, but horrible COMPARED to the book...but on its own, it was okay"

I heard that too. My brother didn't like the movie, but I didn't see it.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ I hated the movie. I mean alone it's actually really good. Next to the book it was crap.

Cupcake Bookworm thats a nice way to say it

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ yeah. I don't swear normally on GR so that just shows how bad it really was.
